If by “scheduled stream breaks” you mean scheduled YouTube Live mid-roll ads, YouTube Studio, StreamYard, and Restream document controls for them. YouTube Studio lets eligible channels choose intervals of 6, 12, 18, 24, or 30 minutes; StreamYard and Restream offer broader frequency settings—Conservative, Balanced, or Aggressive—without documenting an exact interval for each choice. Streamlabs Talk Studio documents scheduling a broadcast, but its reviewed guide does not establish scheduled mid-roll ad controls.
Scheduled ad breaks are different from scheduled broadcasts
A scheduled broadcast is an event set to begin at a future date and time. A scheduled ad break is a mid-roll ad opportunity during a live broadcast. A service can support the first without documenting the second.
The controls below concern YouTube Live ads. They do not guarantee that an ad will play at a precise moment: monetization eligibility, ad availability, and YouTube’s delivery decisions matter. A streaming dashboard cannot make an ineligible channel eligible.
Which services document scheduled YouTube mid-roll controls?
| Service | YouTube event scheduling | Mid-roll controls documented? | Control described | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube Studio | Yes | Yes | Automatic ads, a scheduled interval of 6, 12, 18, 24, or 30 minutes, or manual insertion | The channel must be monetized and live-stream monetization enabled. |
| StreamYard | Yes | Yes | Conservative, Balanced, or Aggressive ad frequency | Its help page says the control is available on all StreamYard plans, but YouTube monetization eligibility is required. The frequency choices are not documented as exact minute intervals. |
| Restream | Yes | Yes | Conservative, Balanced, or Aggressive mid-roll frequency for Studio, RTMP, or a scheduled event | Restream says YouTube determines exact ad placement and format. |
| Streamlabs Talk Studio | Yes | Not established by the reviewed guide | The guide describes choosing a YouTube destination and broadcast date and time, not mid-roll ad controls. | Its scheduling guide gives a 50-day scheduling window; that is an event-scheduling horizon, not an ad interval. |
What each control actually lets you choose
YouTube Studio: choose an interval or insert ads manually
YouTube’s native live monetization controls offer the clearest documented timing choices. For the Scheduled option, YouTube lists intervals of 6, 12, 18, 24, or 30 minutes. Automatic ads and manual insertion are also available. These controls require a monetized channel with live-stream monetization enabled. See YouTube’s live-stream monetization help for the current platform guidance.

StreamYard: select a frequency profile
StreamYard documents a YouTube Live Ads frequency dropdown with Conservative, Balanced, and Aggressive choices. Its documentation describes frequency preferences, not a mapping from each choice to a fixed number of minutes. The setting is available on all StreamYard plans according to its help page, subject to YouTube monetization eligibility. StreamYard separately explains how to schedule a stream; event scheduling and ad frequency are distinct capabilities.
Restream: set mid-roll frequency, not a precise timestamp
Restream documents the same three qualitative frequency choices for eligible YouTube channels, including streams sent through Studio, RTMP, or a scheduled event. Its help page says YouTube determines the exact placement and format, so do not treat a selected frequency as a promise of an ad at a particular minute. Restream’s guidance is at Monetize your streams on YouTube; its separate guide covers creating a YouTube Live event with Restream.

Streamlabs Talk Studio: event scheduling is documented, ad scheduling is not
Streamlabs Talk Studio’s reviewed support guide documents broadcast scheduling and a 50-day scheduling window. It does not describe YouTube mid-roll controls, so event scheduling alone is not evidence that the service can schedule ad breaks. See Talk Studio Broadcast Scheduling.
How to choose the right route
- Need a specific interval? YouTube Studio documents interval choices; it is the clearest fit when you want to select one of the listed schedules.
- Prefer a broad frequency setting inside a cloud studio? StreamYard and Restream document qualitative profiles, but not an exact minute-by-minute mapping for those profiles.
- Only need to set a future start time? The event-scheduling guides for StreamYard, Restream, and Talk Studio address that separate task. Confirm the ad controls independently.
- Want to retain manual control? YouTube documents manual ad insertion in its own live monetization controls. Check how that fits your chosen streaming workflow rather than assuming that a third-party frequency preference provides manual timing.
Where StreamNeo fits—and where it does not
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping an uploaded video or playlist live on YouTube 24/7; it is not a documented scheduled-ad-break controller, so it is not an alternative to YouTube Studio, StreamYard, or Restream for choosing mid-roll frequency or interval. If your separate goal is to keep a prerecorded YouTube stream running without leaving a computer on, StreamNeo runs the loop from the cloud, supports uploads up to 4K 60fps as provided, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. Its first day is free with no card. Learn more at StreamNeo, or start the free day.
