These six FC 25 custom tactics codes are published starting points for different formations—not a verified ranking of the most effective tactics in the October 2026 game client. Each code imports a formation and tactical setup; the best fit depends on your squad and the roles its players can perform.
What an FC 25 custom tactics code includes
EA says a custom tactic can have its own formation, tactical settings and player roles, while the lineup is shared across tactics. A share code is 11 digits long and encodes the formation, build-up style, defensive approach, and selected roles and focuses for all 11 players. It does not include the tactic name. The options below come from published guides. Their inclusion documents the recommended formation and code; it does not establish a comparative win rate or prove any setup is currently the strongest. FourFourTwo says its codes are case-sensitive.

Choose a code by formation and squad fit
Start with the shape your players can support, rather than treating a code as a shortcut to a guaranteed result. The formations differ in defensive cover, width and the number and position of central attackers. For example, 4-4-2 uses two banks of four and offers width as well as two strikers; a five-back structure such as 5-2-1-2 combines a five-player defence with two strikers and a CAM; and the listed 4-2-3-1 uses two defensive midfield roles. - Choose a compact shape if your squad is better suited to central combinations than sustained width.
- Consider a wider formation if you want midfielders or forwards to use the flanks.
- Check whether your players suit the imported roles and focuses, especially in key central positions.
- If the preview shows a role assignment that does not fit your squad, try another code or adjust the tactic rather than forcing a favourite player into an unsuitable role. FourFourTwo recommends matching players to preferred tactics, and PCGamesN notes that the preview displays formation, build-up style, defensive approach and player tactics.
How to import a tactics code
EA’s general instruction is to choose Import Tactic in the Custom Tactics menu and enter the shared code. Ultimate Team guides describe slightly different menu routes, so labels and access points can depend on mode and platform.

- Open Custom Tactics and choose Import Tactic, then enter the code exactly as published. In Ultimate Team, FourFourTwo says to have a full 11-player lineup, open Team Management from the side menu and use the import option on the right. FourFourTwo
- If that route is not available in your Ultimate Team menu, PCGamesN describes opening Squad Actions from the Club screen, selecting Team Management, then choosing Use Code. PCGamesN
- Inspect the tactic preview before using it. Confirm the formation, build-up style, defensive approach and player instructions match what you intend to import; change the setup or choose another code if they do not suit your squad.
