The Unmoored World is Dragon’s Dogma 2’s true-ending post-game area. To reach it, use the Empowered Godsbane Blade on the Dragon’s heart during the final Grigori sequence. Once there, limit your rests, tackle the red-beacon Purgener encounters, and complete the evacuation quests before activating the red beacon at the Seafloor Shrine: that beacon ends the run.
How do you get to the Unmoored World?
You must take the true-ending route during the final encounter with Grigori. When the Dragon gives you the opportunity to break the cycle, approach its heart, grapple to the underside, and use the Empowered Godsbane Blade—the blade obtained from Ambrosius. This leads into the Unmoored World rather than returning you to the ordinary post-game state. Gamer Guides’ Unmoored World overview describes the sequence.
On arrival, your main pawn is separated from you. Recover the pawn, then visit Rothais at the Seafloor Shrine, which serves as the hub for the post-game quest flow, including Dreams Apart and Halls of the First Dawn.
What changes in the Unmoored World?
The familiar map remains recognizable, but it is not simply the same world with stronger enemies. Enemy strength and placement change, new or altered foes appear, and parts of the terrain are destroyed or newly accessible. Oxcarts are unavailable, so travel routes and the cost of crossing the map matter more.

Ferrystones are more plentiful in new chests and may drop from enemies or bosses. The overview also reports more Wyrmslife Crystals and upgraded stock at some shops. Red fog marks the threat to settlements and surrounding areas: areas left unresolved can be swallowed as the danger advances.
Does the Unmoored World have a time limit?
Plan around rests, not ordinary passage of day and night. Resting can advance the red fog and reduce the time available to complete objectives. Published guides disagree on the exact ceiling: Game8 reports ten days of rest, while Prima Games reports twelve in-game days. Those figures are not settled enough to plan around as a guaranteed cap. The practical rule is to rest sparingly and prioritize beacon encounters.

Game8 says resolving red beams early can allow a longer stay. Prima Games notes player reports that fog advancement stops after the relevant objectives, but does not establish that as a guaranteed feature. Avoid relying on unlimited exploration after clearing the main objectives.
What should you do first?
- Recover your pawn and reach the Seafloor Shrine. Speak with Rothais to establish the hub and pick up the post-game quest flow.
- Check the map for red beacons and nearby settlement quests. Without Oxcarts, weigh travel distance and current fog exposure rather than following a supposedly mandatory order.
- Clear Purgener beacon encounters early. Settlement-associated red beacons trigger boss fights when activated with the Godsbane. The Gamer Guides overview identifies locations associated with Vernworth, Sacred Arbor, Bakbattahl, Volcanic Island Camp, and Excavation Site; it notes that two beacons are not shown on its map.
- Work through evacuations between fights where practical. These quests send residents toward the Seafloor Shrine. Limit unnecessary backtracking and avoid resting unless you need to recover.
- Leave the Seafloor Shrine’s red beacon alone until you are ready to finish. Complete the evacuations and any desired remaining objectives before using it.
There is no single route that fits every run: the best order depends on the distance between your next objectives, whether you need a rest, and how much fog pressure is already affecting the areas you intend to visit. Prima Games’ sample route begins at Bakbattahl and mixes evacuations with beacon fights, rather than treating every objective as a separate trip.

How do you evacuate inhabitants?
Halls of the First Dawn is the evacuation quest thread. PowerPyx lists five settlement questlines to complete:
- The Regentkin’s Resolve
- Wandering Roots
- Civil Unrest
- The Importance of Aiding Ernesto
- Shepherd of the Pawns
According to PowerPyx’s Halls of the First Dawn walkthrough, completing these saves all people in the Unmoored World and unlocks the Guardian trophy or achievement. The evacuation objective works alongside defeating the Purgener bosses; completing one type of task does not replace the other.

Which beacon ends the game?
At the Seafloor Shrine, distinguish the blue beacon from the red one. PowerPyx advises using the blue beacon to begin or continue Halls of the First Dawn. The red beacon is the ending trigger: interacting with it finishes the Unmoored World. Prima Games likewise identifies the Seafloor Shrine’s red beacon as the point that completes the area.
Do not activate that red beacon until the evacuations and any remaining trials or exploration you care about are finished. Once you interact with it, the run ends.
