If an XSplit Broadcaster scene seems to have disappeared after a Windows restart, use the presentation recovery prompt: open File, hold Shift, and click Load presentation…. Select the relevant backup, then check its scene list. A scene belongs to a presentation, so first make sure XSplit has loaded the presentation you intended.
Restore the presentation backup
- Launch XSplit Broadcaster after restarting Windows.
- Open File.
- Hold Shift and click Load presentation…. XSplit says this opens a prompt listing backed-up presentations. (XSplit Support: Presentations)
- Choose the backup that contains the scene you need.
- Inspect the scene list in the loaded presentation. XSplit presentations contain scenes, and scenes contain sources. (XSplit Support: Presentations; XSplit Support: Scenes)
You can also hold Shift while XSplit Broadcaster is loading after you log in to open the same recovery prompt. XSplit says it automatically saves presentation backups, but its reviewed instructions do not state how long those backups are retained or where they are stored on disk. If the scene is still missing
Check the active presentation
Confirm that the recovery prompt loaded the presentation you expect, then inspect that presentation’s scene list. A missing scene in the currently loaded presentation does not by itself show that the scene was deleted.
Load a separately saved scene
XSplit Broadcaster’s File menu has options to save and load an individual scene. If you previously saved the missing scene separately, use the load option to bring it in. (XSplit Support: Scenes)

Make a portable presentation export
After recovering the presentation, you can create a separate export using Extensions > Presentation Packager. XSplit documents two package formats: a self-contained BPZip presentation, or a BPres file accompanied by its corresponding source folder. This export is a separate backup or portability measure; it is not the recovery prompt itself. (XSplit Support: Presentation Packager)
If Broadcaster keeps crashing
XSplit documents automatically generated Broadcaster dump files in %ProgramData%XSplitBroadcaster. A dump can help diagnose a crash; it is not a scene-restoration file. Follow XSplit Support’s directions to compress and share the dump if Support requests it. (XSplit Support: How to Send a Dump File to XSplit)

The recovery instructions describe a backup prompt, not guaranteed recovery in every case. They do not document manual restoration from a backup file or promise that a particular backup will remain available. Do not treat the Windows restart alone as proof that it deleted a scene.
