Larix Broadcaster Audio Missing on YouTube Live: Android Troubleshooting

Check Android microphone controls, Larix’s selected input, app-audio limits, and YouTube playback to find where your stream’s sound disappears.

If viewers can’t hear your Larix Broadcaster stream, first check Android’s app and device-wide microphone controls, then confirm Larix is using the right audio source. If you can hear sound in a local recording but not in YouTube’s preview or playback, investigate the encoder-to-YouTube handoff instead. The right fix depends on whether you’re streaming from the phone’s microphone, an external input, or another app’s audio.

Start by identifying which audio is missing

Distinguish speech or other sound picked up by the phone’s microphone from audio playing inside another Android app. These are different capture paths: a restriction on capturing app playback does not, by itself, explain a silent ordinary microphone.

  • Phone microphone: Check microphone permission, Android’s microphone privacy control, and Larix’s selected audio source.
  • External microphone or mixer: Check that the phone recognizes the accessory and Larix has selected the intended input.
  • Audio from another app: Check Android-version limits and Larix’s Media sounds setting.

Then determine whether the sound is missing at capture or only after it reaches YouTube. A short test, a local recording if available, YouTube Live Control Room’s incoming preview, and playback on a separate device can help isolate the stage.

Check Android microphone permission and privacy

  1. Open Settings > Apps > Larix Broadcaster > Permissions > Microphone and allow microphone access. Android Help explains that microphone permission allows an app to record audio; if permission is denied, Larix cannot use the microphone while in use.
  2. Check Android’s system-wide microphone control. On supported devices, look under Settings > Security & privacy > Privacy controls for the microphone access control, and turn it on if it is off.
  3. Return to Larix and make a short test. Change one setting at a time so you can tell which change affects the result.

Menu names and locations can differ by Android version and phone manufacturer. Check the equivalent permission and privacy controls if your device uses different labels.

Yojaro 4Pack Silicone Suction Phone Case Mount, Silicon Adhesive Smartphones Stand Sticky, Hands-Free Phone Accessories Holder for Selfies and Videos (Black & White & Translucent & Light Pink)
  • 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
  • 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
  • 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
  • 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
  • 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)

Confirm Larix is using the intended audio source

  1. Open Larix Broadcaster > Settings > Audio and inspect Audio source.
  2. For the built-in microphone, select an appropriate built-in source. For an external microphone or mixer, connect it before selecting or testing the input.
  3. Make a short test and listen to it locally if a recording is available.

Larix’s Google Play developer guidance recommends trying the Audio source setting when an input is not detected. For some external devices, it also suggests trying a higher sample rate such as 48000. That is a troubleshooting suggestion, not a universal requirement or guaranteed fix; test it only when relevant to your external input, and change one setting at a time.

If you want to stream audio playing in another app

Android’s support for capturing another app’s audio depends on the Android version and on whether the source app permits external recording. Softvelum’s Larix FAQ says Android 9 or earlier restricts apps from capturing other apps’ audio. On Android 10, media capture works only for apps that support external recording.

Apple EarPods Headphones with USB-C Plug, Wired Ear Buds with Built-in Remote to Control Music, Phone Calls, and Volume
  • SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
  • HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
  • BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
  • COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
  • INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.

For a supported source on Android 10, check Larix > Audio > Sound settings > Media sounds. If the source app does not support external recording, changing Larix’s microphone source will not make that app’s playback capturable.

If you’re using a headset, USB microphone, or mixer

  • Reconnect the accessory and check that its connector and any adapter are appropriate for the phone.
  • Confirm the phone recognizes the accessory, then check Larix’s Audio source selection. A connector that fits physically does not prove the phone accepts the signal or that Larix selected it.
  • If the input is a mixer feed, verify that the mixer is sending audio to the phone’s input, rather than assuming that a headphone connection will carry the intended signal.

YouTube’s encoder guidance tells users to connect and set up microphones or headsets with the encoder. A user report on Larix’s Google Play listing describes a Pixel 3a not always detecting a line feed through its headphone jack. That individual report is a reason to verify input detection—not evidence of a general Pixel compatibility problem.

  • Travel Must-Have for People On the Go: A must-have travel accessory for flights, flying, airports, air travel, airplanes, planes, international trips, cruises, and long travel days. Key gadget for your airport haul, travel accessories and must-haves.

If the phone does not recognize the input, a compatible external microphone, such as a USB-C lavalier, may be an alternative capture device. Check compatibility with your phone and setup before buying one. Replacing a microphone will not fix denied permission or a YouTube-side configuration problem.

Work out whether the problem is capture or the YouTube handoff

  1. Make a brief test and check whether Larix indicates audio activity. If you can, listen to a local recording as well.
  2. Open the stream’s incoming preview in YouTube Live Control Room and listen from a separate playback device.
  3. If the local capture is silent, return to Android permissions, privacy controls, and Larix’s selected input.
  4. If the local capture has sound but YouTube playback is silent, check the encoder’s routing and stream connection settings. YouTube’s encoder instructions call for entering the YouTube Live server URL and stream key in the encoder.

This comparison is a practical way to narrow down where sound disappears, not a Larix-specific diagnostic procedure validated by YouTube. YouTube’s instructions describe encoder setup but do not provide a Larix-specific sound-meter diagnosis.
