Not directly, based on Larix’s published documentation. Larix Broadcaster is documented for live mobile capture and streaming, not for selecting a prerecorded Google Drive file as an encoder source. A possible workaround is to play the video on your device and stream its screen with Larix Screencaster, but whether the Google Drive app’s audio can be captured depends on the device, operating system and app support.
What Larix Broadcaster can—and cannot—do with a Drive video
Softvelum describes Larix Broadcaster as mobile broadcasting software for streaming live video and audio from iOS and Android devices. Its documented inputs include camera capture, recording and USB OTG video or audio sources. The reviewed product documentation does not describe opening a Google Drive file and sending that file directly to YouTube Live.
That means the direct-file workflow is not established by the published documentation; it is not a claim based on hands-on testing. If you need to send a prerecorded file without displaying it on a phone or tablet, do not assume Broadcaster can use the Drive file as its source.
Workaround: stream the device screen with Larix Screencaster
Larix Screencaster documents screen capture and streaming, so you can try playing the Drive video on a device while streaming its screen. This is a conditional workaround, not a verified Google Drive app integration. Test the picture and sound before relying on it.

Check audio capture first
- Android: Softvelum’s guidance says Android 10 and later can capture audio from apps that support external recording. Whether the current Google Drive app permits this on your specific device is unverified.
- iOS: Softvelum describes restrictions, with app audio capture depending on ReplayKit and the app. Do not assume Drive playback audio will be included.
If screen video appears but the stream is silent, the limitation may be app or operating-system audio capture rather than YouTube’s ingest settings.
Set up YouTube as the encoder destination
- Enable live streaming in YouTube. YouTube says first-time enablement may take up to 24 hours, so do this before the time you intend to broadcast.
- Create or select a live stream in YouTube Studio. Copy the YouTube server/ingestion URL and stream key shown for that stream.
- Enter the destination in Larix. Larix’s setup reference describes combining the destination URL and stream name/key in its connection settings. Use the exact values supplied by YouTube.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it as a credential: do not publish or share it, and replace it if it is exposed.
- Run a private or unlisted test. Play the Drive video, start screen capture, and verify that both the image and audio reach YouTube before broadcasting publicly. Device- and app-specific behavior needs to be checked on your own setup.
What to test before going public
- Does Screencaster capture the intended screen and keep the video visible during playback?
- Is the Drive video’s sound present in the YouTube test, rather than only audible locally?
- Does the stream continue for the full duration you need?
- Do you have the right to broadcast the video and its audio? Streaming a file does not grant permission to use its contents.
Or let it run in the cloud
