The tri-band Wi-Fi 8 router is rated for up to 19 Gbps of combined wireless speed. UK preorder pricing was reported at about £670, with a later UK price of about £900; that roughly $900 figure is not an announced US price. TP-Link has not announced US pricing or a firm US launch date.
How much does the Archer 8 Ultra cost?
The available figures are regional and distinguish preorder pricing from a later price. TechRadar reported a UK preorder price of £669.99, rising to £899.99 later, and an Australian preorder price of AU$1,499.99. Digital Citizen reported a UK listing at £669.98 and described it as roughly $900. These are media-reported prices, not a confirmed US retail price. TP-Link said additional regional prices would be announced.

TP-Link listed the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Canada and other markets among those opening preorders, while saying further regional availability and pricing would follow. The announcement did not specify a US launch date. Check the local TP-Link store or authorized retailer for current availability, since preorder windows and prices can change.
What does 19 Gbps mean?
TP-Link rates the Archer 8 Ultra for up to 19 Gbps of aggregate wireless speed across its three bands. That is a combined rating, not a promise that one phone, PC or console will download at 19 Gbps. The company identifies the model as Archer 8 Ultra BN19000 (Archer BN800) and names Broadcom as its chipset provider.

The router’s wired connections may matter more immediately to households with fast broadband, local storage or wired gaming setups: it has two auto-sensing 10 Gbps WAN/LAN ports and four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports. The dual-purpose WAN/LAN ports can serve as WAN or LAN connections, while the four dedicated 2.5 Gbps ports provide additional wired connections.
What Wi-Fi 8 is intended to improve
TP-Link’s pitch for Wi-Fi 8 centers on more consistent performance when devices are farther from the router, radio interference is present, or many clients compete for network resources—not simply a higher top-line speed. The company calls its implementation StabilityEngine. At launch, TP-Link says UEQM, new MCS and 2×LDPC are available; DSO, ELR, DRU, Co-TDMA, Co-SR and Co-BF are slated for over-the-air updates as the standard matures.

TP-Link’s launch announcement reports “up to 33% more consistent throughput at mid-to-long ranges” and “up to 24% more consistent throughput than Wi-Fi 7 under interference,” based on its own 2026 internal testing. These are manufacturer-reported maximums from controlled conditions, not independent test results. TP-Link says real-world performance depends on the network, connected devices, environment and interference.
Coverage, capacity and physical connections
The Archer 8 Ultra has 18 internal antennas. TP-Link estimates coverage of up to 3,600 square feet, or 3,000 square feet in the EU, and support for up to 200 devices. Those are maximum estimates rather than guarantees; walls, layout, interference and the mix of connected devices can change results.

TP-Link also announced future Wi-Fi 8 products: the Deco 8 mesh system for Q1 2027, and the Roam 8 travel router plus Wi-Fi 8 range extenders and adapters for Q2 2027. Those are planned release windows, not current accessory availability; TP-Link cautions that timing and specifications may vary by region or change.

The main case for buying early is access to the Archer’s high-capacity wired ports or an early move to Wi-Fi 8. The tradeoff is paying a premium before Wi-Fi 8 client hardware is widely available. TechRadar reported on September 30, 2026, that consumer Wi-Fi 8 client hardware was not yet available. Existing Wi-Fi 7 and earlier devices can connect, but they are not Wi-Fi 8 clients; TechRadar says they may still benefit from the router, without having Wi-Fi 8 hardware themselves.

For a home centered on current wireless devices, the announced 19 Gbps rating alone does not establish a practical speed gain for those clients. For someone who needs multi-gigabit wired connections today, the ports are a distinct reason to consider it. There are no independent benchmarks or hands-on test results established in the cited launch coverage, so the performance claims should be treated as TP-Link’s until independent testing is available.
