Kell’s Fall is an assault on Fikrul’s Revenant Fortress, where cracked mirrors connect the ordinary fortress to the Revenant Plane. Follow the braziers and mirror paths to progress, use the Bailey organ melodies to open secret routes, and search those routes for Slayer’s Fang intrinsic upgrades. The first completion grants Slayer’s Fang to you and your fireteam, according to Bungie’s January 9, 2025 announcement.
Before you start: access and rewards
Bungie describes the mission as an assault on Fikrul’s Revenant Fortress, a derelict castle made from the shattered Awoken Watchtower in the Tangled Shore. Its launch-era announcement says the first completion grants the Slayer’s Fang Exotic Shotgun to the player and everyone in the fireteam. Because current October 2026 access and reward behavior have not been confirmed here, check the in-game Director and active quest markers rather than relying on a historical access route.
The mission’s story can present different final encounters as its variants progress. The launch-era guide coverage names Reflection, Distortion, and Diffraction, but that sequence should not be assumed to describe the current access or rotation. If you are replaying, follow the active in-game objective and identify your goal first: the initial weapon reward, organ secrets, or catalyst quests.
Walkthrough: reach the final encounter
Gatehouse: get past Araskes
Advance along the opening approach into the fortress. At the Gatehouse, Araskes the Trickster and other Scorn attack. In the community walkthrough, Araskes withdraws after taking damage; this is an early encounter, not the mission’s final boss. Once the fight moves on, continue into the Bailey and its organ room.

Bailey: take the main route
The Bailey organ has 13 switches, numbered from left to right. For the main progression route, take the passage on the left and light the brazier that opens the way forward. The right-hand passage is an optional secret route, and its melody may not be available on an early run; the guide coverage also notes that organ keys can depend on story progress.
Mirror Gallery: search both dimensions
Shoot the debris or cracked mirror that reveals a portal, then cross into the Revenant Plane. Look for the route forward and light braziers on both sides of the mirror boundary. Dot Esports’ launch-era walkthrough calls for two torches in its described section. Some apparent rock walls are illusions, so inspect the surroundings for a concealed opening instead of trusting the visible surface.

Fighting Pit and later fights: break enemy protection
When enemies are protected in the ordinary environment, use the mirror to enter the Revenant Plane and defeat the relevant Revenant enemies there. Collect their motes to gain Revenant Empowerment, then return to the ordinary plane and attack the enemies that were shielded. Repeat the sequence when the encounter requires it. Save heavy ammunition or your Super for the periods when a boss can take damage; the active story variant determines which boss you face.
Final encounter and Slayer’s Fang
Follow the mission objective through its final encounter. Launch-era walkthroughs describe changing final encounters across story variants, so use the boss and objective shown in your current instance rather than expecting one universal final fight. Bungie’s announcement confirms the first-completion Slayer’s Fang reward; it does not establish that historical story sequence as the current October 2026 route.

Bailey organ codes and secret routes
Stand at the organ plate and shoot the switches in sequence, counting from left to right. The following melodies and destinations are guide-reported; whether a code or pickup is available may depend on story progress and having already obtained Slayer’s Fang.
| Switch sequence | Reported result | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
2-11-1-10-7-6 |
Message: “Ancient gears grinding deep within the fortress.” | Room to the right of the organ; guide-reported Nightsworn Sight II pickup. |
1-4-11-1-4-10 |
Message: “Barrier giving way.” | Door in the Mirror Gallery; guide-reported Nightsworn Sight III pickup. |
1-8-1-6 |
Listed by the community wiki for a door near the Mindbender encounter. | Guide-reported Nightsworn Sight IV route; full steps were not independently verified in the available guide material. |
The first two melodies and their reported messages and pickups are covered in Destructoid’s January 2025 upgrade guide. The third is listed in the community-maintained Kell’s Fall wiki, but its full route is less firmly established. Treat these as guide-era directions and use the current mission’s prompts to confirm the route is active.

Slayer’s Fang catalysts
Bungie’s January 9, 2025 announcement says four Slayer’s Fang catalyst quests are available from Eido and directs players to complete Kell’s Fall on Expert for them. It recommends bringing a capable fireteam. That announcement is historical; verify the current quest prerequisites and availability with Eido and the in-game activity before planning a catalyst run.
