First identify which problem you have: a campaign save missing, a “Save Failed” message, or New Game+ missing after a playthrough. The fixes and limits differ. New Game+ arrived in Update 1.3.0 on October 1, 2026, and requires completing the entire campaign on the platform where you want to play it. Campaign saves do not transfer between linked platforms.
Start by identifying the symptom
Note the platform and storefront, the exact error text, and when the problem occurs. Also distinguish campaign progress from online progression such as TacSim XP or challenge progress: IO Interactive treats those differently for cross-progression.
- Missing campaign save: You cannot see or continue a campaign save on the platform where you are playing.
- “Save Failed”: The game reports that it cannot save, or campaign progress is not being recorded.
- New Game+ missing: You finished playing but cannot select New Game+.
Check the update and New Game+ requirement
New Game+ was introduced in Update 1.3.0, released October 1, 2026. Make sure that update is installed on the platform where you want to start the mode. IO Interactive’s patch notes state that “a completed playthrough of the entire Campaign is necessary” to unlock it: Update 1.3.0 Patch Notes.
Confirm that the full campaign was completed on that same platform. TacSim progress does not substitute for campaign completion, and a campaign played on a different platform does not meet the local completion requirement because campaign progress does not transfer.

If campaign saves are missing after switching platforms
IOI Account cross-progression shares specified online progress, including TacSim XP, Clearance level, inventory, and challenge progress. It does not transfer campaign saves or campaign progress. See IOI’s cross-progression support page, updated September 15, 2026.
Changing the primary progression profile can invalidate the local save on the platform being switched from. Avoid changing the primary profile casually while investigating a missing campaign save; the feature does not provide a way to move that campaign save to another platform.

If PC displays “Save Failed”
IO Interactive’s Known Issues page, last updated September 17, 2026, lists a PC autosave issue that can prevent progress from saving and, in some cases, prevent the game from starting. The page records: “Workaround: None at this time.” Check the dated status on the 007 First Light Known Issues page.
Because IOI has not published a workaround there, do not delete or replace save files or use third-party repair software as though those were official fixes. Contact IOI Player Support and provide your platform and storefront, the exact message, what you were doing when it appeared, and when it began.

If a save slot fails after reload, resume, Retry, or returning to the menu
Update 1.3.0 lists fixes for issues that could leave a slot partially unusable after exiting to the main menu, as well as several problems after reloading, resuming, or selecting Retry. Install the update and check whether the specific behavior changes. These patch fixes do not establish that every save problem is resolved; if the issue persists, report the exact sequence and platform to support.

What to include in a support request
- Platform and storefront (for example, the specific PC store or console).
- Exact error text, including “Save Failed” if shown.
- Whether the issue concerns campaign data, online/TacSim progress, or New Game+.
- When it happens: on startup, autosave, reload, resume, Retry, or after changing platforms or profiles.
- Whether Update 1.3.0 is installed and whether the full campaign was completed on this platform.
