Yes. Gears of War: E-Day supports campaign co-op for two players in console split-screen or up to four players online. The game is scheduled to launch on October 6, 2026; as of October 3, 2026, it is not yet available to play.
What co-op modes does Gears of War: E-Day have?
Xbox lists three campaign options: play solo, play with one other person in local split-screen, or play online with up to four players. Its store listing specifies local co-op for two players and online co-op for two to four.

How to play split-screen with a friend
Choose this option if both players will share a console. Xbox confirms two-player split-screen on console, but its official listing does not explain how to add player two or provide button-by-button setup instructions. A second Xbox controller is a practical item to have ready for a second local player; the reviewed listings do not explicitly specify controller requirements.
How to play online campaign co-op
- Make sure each player has access to the game on a supported platform. Xbox lists Xbox Series X|S and PC.
- Check that the account hosting or joining online campaign co-op has a Game Pass subscription that includes online multiplayer. The required subscription is sold separately; not every Game Pass plan should be assumed to include this feature.
- Plan for a group of two to four players. Xbox identifies cross-platform co-op capability, but does not publish a detailed pairing matrix or matchmaking and invitation steps in the listings covered here.

Can Xbox and PC players play together?
Xbox store metadata identifies cross-platform co-op, so the listing indicates that cross-platform play is supported. It does not spell out every supported platform pairing or the steps for inviting a player on another platform. Check the in-game options after launch for the available pairing and invite flow rather than assuming a specific menu path.

Xbox lists October 6, 2026 as the release date. The listing also says the game is included at launch with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Those launch and subscription details are Xbox’s listed terms; the online multiplayer requirement still depends on having a subscription that includes that feature. Xbox product page
