The latest official announcement found here is patch 1.30, dated October 1, 2026; it describes broad stability and performance improvements, not a guaranteed fix for every crash or save problem. Start with your platform, version, and symptom
Before changing settings, establish what actually changed. Check whether you play on PC/Steam, Steam Deck, Steam Machine, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X/S, and make sure the update completed. Patch notes can include platform-specific options, so a PC instruction may not apply to a console.
Classify the problem as precisely as you can: a crash on launch or loading, a crash during play, a save/load error, or reduced or unstable frame rate. Look up the notes for your installed version and check for a change that matches that symptom. Patch 1.30 lists stability work, graphics optimization, and several specific fixes, but does not claim to repair every crash or save failure. Read the official patch 1.30 announcement.
What patch 1.30 changes—and what its performance claims mean
Questline and Awaken Realms said patch 1.30 brought stability and performance improvements across platforms. The developer estimated gains of 5 to 30 extra FPS on PC, Steam Deck, and Steam Machine, depending on setup, and around 2 extra FPS on consoles, alongside improved overall console stability. These are developer-published estimates, not independent benchmarks or a promise that every player will see those gains.

The update also changed graphics options. Check the settings available on your platform and version rather than copying an older guide:
- FSR: Patch 1.30 adds it to the upscaling options.
- Grass Density and Vegetation Quality: These are separate settings. The update also adjusts grass-density values, with the developer citing potential help for GPU-bound setups, high resolutions, and low-end GPUs.
- Lens Flare: A new setting lets players adjust this effect.
- Steam Deck presets: The Quality preset targets around 30 FPS; Performance targets 35–40 FPS. These are targets, not guaranteed results.
- PC draw distance: The slider can reach 120%; the announcement says Ultra+ sets it to 120% by default. This is a PC-specific option, not a console setting.
There is no single best combination established for every system. If frame rate worsened after updating, note your current settings and make a controlled change to a relevant option at a time so you can tell whether it helps.

Check whether the patch names your specific bug
Patch 1.30’s listed fixes include rebinding with AZERTY keyboard layouts, dialogue boxes with Large UI and Big Font, difficulty being affected by settings reset, and several UI or display issues. If one matches what you are seeing, consult the announcement for its exact context. These named fixes should not be treated as evidence of a general save-recovery fix.
Older advice may refer to options or optimization that have since changed. The July 2026 patch 1.25 announcement, for example, described an Ultra+ preset and continuing optimization work. If the problem is a crash or a save/load error
The official sources cited here do not provide a current platform-by-platform method for restoring a corrupted save, resolving a cloud-save conflict, rolling back a patch, or changing game files to fix a crash. Do not delete or overwrite saves or apply unofficial file fixes on the assumption that they are safe recovery steps. For a persistent crash or save error, escalate it to Questline rather than risking further changes to your data.

How earlier performance notes fit
Patch 1.16, announced January 28, 2026, reported a 3–5 FPS boost on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. That is an earlier developer-reported figure, not a replacement for patch 1.30’s separate estimates or an independent measurement. See the official patch 1.16 announcement.
