You can run an Indian instrumental music radio stream on YouTube around the clock with an encoder that repeatedly sends a prepared audio-video programme to a live broadcast. The difficult part is not making it loop: it is securing rights for every recording and composition, keeping the encoder and connection available, and meeting YouTube’s copyright and monetization rules. Clear those issues before launch, test the feed in YouTube Live Control Room, and arrange a recovery plan.
Before you go live: confirm channel access and music rights
Check that the channel can stream
Verify the channel and check that YouTube has not restricted its live-streaming access within the past 90 days. YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance covers eligibility and setup. Do this before investing time in a continuous schedule.
Clear both the composition and the recording
Instrumental, classical, old, or freely available online does not automatically mean a track is free to use. A composition and a particular sound recording may have different rights holders. Identify the rights chain for each selected track and obtain written permission that covers YouTube livestream transmission, the territories where the stream will be available, the intended duration, and any archive or replay.
YouTube’s livestream terms put the responsibility on the provider to have the necessary worldwide rights for live and archived content, including relevant music licensing rights from artists, labels, publishers and other royalty participants. The exact clearance route depends on your repertoire, rights ownership and territories; do not assume a single license covers every recording or country.
#1 Best Overall

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Ask rights holders about Content ID allowlisting
Keep track-level records of permissions and ask the relevant rights holders to add your channel to their Content ID allowlist before launch. YouTube scans live feeds, and its copyright guidance for live streams warns: “If your channel isn’t added to their allowlist, your live stream can be interrupted even if you’ve licensed the content.” A license and allowlisting solve different problems; arrange both where applicable.
Do not use Creator Music as a livestream license
YouTube’s Creator Music terms make its licensing and revenue-sharing tracks available for long-form videos, not livestreams. Check the terms of any other music catalog individually, including its territory coverage and whether it permits livestreams and archives.

Choose how to keep the programme running
Computer and software encoder
A computer running an encoder is a practical starting point if it can remain powered, connected and monitored. YouTube supports software encoding from a computer and says expensive equipment is not required. An existing computer may be enough; a dedicated mini PC is optional, not a YouTube requirement.
Dedicated hardware encoder
YouTube positions professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production events. A hardware encoder can suit a dedicated broadcast setup, but it is not a baseline requirement for a music radio stream. Choose based on the production workflow and your ability to monitor and recover the feed.

Single encoder or tested failover
A single encoder is simpler, but a power cut, network loss or encoder failure can end the stream. For a channel where continuity matters, consider backup equipment or a second internet path; these are operational precautions, not a YouTube availability guarantee. YouTube recommends testing encoder failover by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable. Test recovery before relying on it.
Decide whether to keep an archive
An archive gives viewers a replay, but it also means the rights must cover archived content. YouTube notes that completed livestream archives can receive Content ID claims. Decide whether replay is worth the added rights and claims exposure before enabling archiving.

Set up and test the YouTube livestream
- Prepare the programme. Assemble the recordings and visuals you are authorized to use. Create a continuous sequence or playlist in the encoder, and confirm that the programme can repeat without an unintended silence or abrupt cutoff.
- Configure a live stream in YouTube. Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule a livestream. In Live Control Room, obtain the stream key and enter it in the encoder’s YouTube destination settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send video to your stream. Do not publish it or include it in screenshots.
- Set the encoder’s output. Select a resolution and frame rate suited to your source and connection, and use the encoder’s YouTube-compatible streaming settings. Check YouTube’s current encoder settings guidance for supported configurations rather than relying on settings copied from an older tutorial.
- Start the encoder early. Send the feed before the scheduled start so Live Control Room has time to receive it. Preview the video and listen to the audio there before making the broadcast public.
- Check viewer access. Confirm that the watch page opens and that the stream can be viewed on mobile as well as on your own monitoring setup.
- Monitor the live programme. Keep checking picture, sound and encoder status throughout the broadcast. YouTube’s setup guidance recommends monitoring audio and video and testing encoder failover; a stream that starts successfully can still be interrupted later.
YouTube’s Live Streaming API documentation describes a continuous 24/7 feed using a liveStream for the transmitted audio-video feed and a liveBroadcast for the event or video. It also explains how another broadcast can share a feed. This is an API-specific example, not a requirement that every creator use the API. The same documentation lists up to 10 active streams per channel and up to 3 active streams per stream key; check the current Live Streaming API documentation if you are designing an API workflow.
Make the channel suitable for monetization review
YouTube applies its channel monetization policies to livestreams. Its monetization policies expect original, authentic content and exclude mass-produced, generic or repetitive material. A static image with minimally differentiated tracks played endlessly can therefore carry monetization risk; that does not mean every continuous radio stream is automatically rejected. Review is specific to the channel.
Best Value

- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.

Make the programme recognizably curated: use distinct programming, meaningful track selection, original visuals or context, and accurate titles and descriptions. These choices do not guarantee approval. A 24/7 format by itself does not establish eligibility or promise monetization.
Troubleshoot common interruptions and claims
| Symptom | Likely issue | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| No incoming feed in Live Control Room | The encoder is not sending, or its destination or stream key is wrong. | Confirm the encoder is running, recheck the selected YouTube destination and key, and verify that the channel can livestream. |
| Live feed stops unexpectedly | Power, network or encoder interruption; alternatively, a rights or Content ID issue. | Check encoder and connection status, then inspect YouTube’s live notifications and copyright messages. Restore the feed and test the backup or recovery procedure. |
| Licensed music still triggers an interruption | The rights holder may not have allowlisted the channel in Content ID. | Contact the relevant rights holder with the channel details and request allowlisting. Keep the license documentation available; a license alone may not prevent automated live interruption. |
| A claim appears after the broadcast | The archived livestream may have been scanned after completion. | Check which track and rights holder are identified, then use YouTube’s claim process and your written permissions as appropriate. Revisit whether future streams should be archived. |
| The stream runs but monetization is uncertain | Continuous playback does not ensure monetization, and repetitive or generic presentation may be a policy concern. | Review the channel against YouTube’s monetization policies and improve the programme’s originality and curation; no format guarantees a particular review result. |
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping an uploaded-video stream live without leaving a home computer on. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the uploaded programme from the cloud; it does not stream from a camera.
- Nothing needs to stay powered on at home for the stream to continue.
- Each slot streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot rather than quality tiers.
- StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card required, one free day per account.
- Monthly: $9.99 per month.
StreamNeo handles the playback and continuity, not music rights: you still need permission for the actual recordings, compositions, territories and any archive, and a live feed may still face YouTube copyright enforcement. Learn more at StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
