If the Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse demo will not download, launch, or gets stuck on a black screen, first confirm you have the listing for your platform and enough available space. For Steam, compare your PC with the store’s Windows 11 requirements. Konami’s published information does not provide a confirmed game-specific crash or black-screen fix, so these checks can help narrow the issue but cannot guarantee a repair.
Check that you have the right demo listing
Konami says the opening-chapter demo is available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The Xbox Store listing is for Xbox Series X|S only; it does not list Xbox One. Use the store for your platform rather than searching for a single cross-platform download.
Konami’s announcement says the demo launched October 1, 2026. If you are checking the full game’s release date as well, Konami lists October 15, 2026, while Steam lists October 14, 2026; the available listings do not explain the difference.
Demo download or installation stops
Check the free capacity on the device against Konami’s published minimum required capacity for the demo. These figures are platform-specific capacity requirements, not stated download sizes, and meeting them does not explain every installation error.

If the platform and capacity checks do not help, record the platform, any displayed error text, and where the download or installation stops before contacting the platform’s support service.
Steam demo will not launch
Steam lists these Windows requirements for the game. Its listing does not separately label them as demo-only requirements, so treat them as the published game requirements rather than a guarantee that every PC meeting them will launch the demo successfully.

The 10 GB listed on Steam is distinct from Konami’s 4 GB demo-page capacity figure. The Steam listing does not say that the 10 GB figure is a separate demo download size.
Black screen, crash, or failure after launch
The official information cited here does not give a game-specific black-screen or crash procedure, and it does not establish a particular cause for a failure. A suggested launch-option change appears in an unverified user report, not in confirmed official guidance; do not treat unfamiliar launch parameters as a proven fix.

If the problem continues, note your platform, the exact error text (if any), and the point at which the game fails, then contact the relevant platform or publisher support channel. Konami’s published 60 fps figure generally and 30 fps for Nintendo Switch describes performance targets; it does not identify the cause of a crash or frame-rate problem.

Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. says: “The demo and full version must be played on the same platform and with the same account.” Also make sure the demo save is retained and the full game is updated to its latest version before transferring. Some demo content may be restricted from transfer. These conditions are stated by Konami’s October 1, 2026 announcement and its demo page.
