Yes, some Fortnite skins and other Item Shop purchases can be returned, but the route depends on how you paid and when you bought the item. For V-Bucks purchases, you may be able to cancel within 24 hours if the item has not been used or equipped, or return an eligible purchase made in the last 30 days with a Return Ticket. These self-service options return V-Bucks, not cash. Bundle eligibility is not stated consistently in Epic’s support guidance, so check the live return screen before assuming a bundle qualifies.
Which Fortnite refund option applies?
For purchases made with V-Bucks in the Fortnite Item Shop, Epic offers two self-service options: Cancel Purchase and Return Tickets. For purchases made through a console or mobile store outside the Epic Games Store, contact the store that processed the payment instead. A store refund is governed by that store’s rules and is not the same as Epic returning V-Bucks.
| Option | When it may apply | Conditions | What you get back |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cancel Purchase | Within 24 hours of buying an Item Shop item with V-Bucks | The item must not have been used or equipped in any game mode. Each item can be canceled only once. | The V-Bucks spent |
| Return Ticket | For an eligible V-Bucks purchase made within the last 30 days | You need an available ticket, and the purchase must not be on Epic’s ineligible list. | The V-Bucks spent |
| Refund from another store | For a purchase paid for through a console or mobile store other than the Epic Games Store | Apply through the store where you paid. That store decides under its own policy. | Determined by the store; Epic does not process payments it does not manage. |
Epic’s Item Shop refund instructions explain the two V-Bucks options and show whether a purchase can be selected in the return interface.
How to cancel a V-Bucks purchase within 24 hours
Cancel Purchase is the option to try first if the Item Shop purchase was recent and the item has not been used or equipped in any game mode. If you have used or equipped it, the 24-hour cancellation conditions are not met. Epic also says a given item can be canceled only once; buying that item again does not reset its cancellation eligibility.

How Return Tickets work
If more than 24 hours have passed, an eligible Item Shop purchase made within the last 30 days may be returned using a Return Ticket. Epic’s current support guidance says an account starts with three tickets, receives one replenished every 365 days, and can hold no more than three at a time. Tickets are limited: if you have none available, you cannot use this method, and Epic Support says it cannot add extra tickets.
To submit on the web, use Epic’s Fortnite Shop:
- Sign in at fortnite.com/shop.
- Select the Player Icon, then Return and Cancel Purchases.
- Select Show Purchases.
- Choose the purchase and confirm. The resulting screen displays the V-Bucks credited.

Can you refund a Fortnite skin bundle?
Epic’s support wording is not fully consistent on cosmetic bundles. One article says that when an eligible purchase is a bundle, the entire bundle must be returned together. Another lists “Cosmetic bundles” among purchases that cannot be refunded with Cancel Purchase or Return Tickets, while also describing the whole-bundle rule. The public guidance does not establish that every skin bundle qualifies—or that no bundle does.

First identify who processed the payment. If you paid through a console or directly through a mobile store other than the Epic Games Store, request help from that platform’s store; Epic says that store’s refund policy determines the outcome. Epic cannot process payments it does not manage, so approval is not guaranteed. For other real-money content, Epic’s Fortnite support distinguishes Item Shop purchases from developer-island and Epic Games Store purchases; the appropriate return process depends on what you bought and who took payment.
