What is the weekly Treasure Hunt?
It is a weekly Festival Playlist challenge: use the photo clue to find a chest in the named region. The prompt is reported as “Follow the Photo Clue to Discover the Treasure!” by the FH6 Treasure Hunt reference site. The photo is the puzzle; the wording is not a changing text riddle.
Several similarly named features are separate from this challenge. The reference site describes Treasure Cars as parked cars in the world and Barn Finds as restoration collectibles. Neither is the weekly Playlist chest. The paid Treasure Map add-on is for collectible locations, but the Xbox Store listing explicitly says it does not reveal seasonal collectibles featured in the Festival Playlist. It therefore is not a way to locate the weekly chest.
Where is this week’s chest?
Weekly locations are tied to a particular Playlist week, so check the event and date attached to any guide rather than treating an older location as current. The available October 2026 sources do not conclusively establish the active post-reset location.

Nangan: an October 1, 2026 report
PC Gamer’s October 1 guide reports the chest at Irokawa Space Center in far-southern Nangan: go to the upper level and search the north corner, left of the large rocket and fuel tanks. An October 1 community Series 5 Spring breakdown also names Nangan.
There is a timing caveat: the specialist tracker says the Playlist rolled over on Thursday, October 1 at 14:30 UTC, but its October 3 status did not confirm the new location. The sources do not resolve whether the guide’s Nangan location describes the active post-rollover hunt. Treat it as a dated report, not independently confirmed current directions. The tracker describes one weekly chest and reports coverage of ten regions across three series; those are the site’s own coverage figures, not official game statistics.

What does the Treasure Hunt reward?
Rewards vary by hunt, so do not combine a dated guide’s figures into a guaranteed payout for every week. For the October 1 Nangan hunt, PC Gamer reports 100,000 credits, 5,000 XP, and three Season Progress points. The community breakdown independently lists 100,000 credits and three Playlist points for Nangan; it does not list XP. The tracker says 100,000 CR and three Playlist points are the pattern for hunts where it has a reward figure, but does not confirm XP as universal.
The chest’s direct payout and Playlist progress are distinct from seasonal milestone rewards: cars tied to milestones require points accumulated across Playlist activities, rather than being the chest’s direct reward.

Does the chest respawn or carry over after Thursday?
That behavior is not established by the available sources. The tracker says it found no official statement or substantiated player report showing whether a discovered but unclaimed chest persists through the Thursday rollover, respawns, or disappears. Do not rely on a chest remaining available after reset.

No verified official recovery procedure for a missing chest or unregistered reward is established in the sources reviewed. First make sure you are following a guide for the correct Playlist week and region, and use the photo clue rather than assuming an old location still applies. If the location or reward state remains unclear, the available evidence does not support promising that restarting or another workaround will fix it. Playground Games’ official FAQ is an official reference, but the cited FAQ material covers release and platform information, not Treasure Hunt recovery steps.
