Is the Director’s Cut a free update?
Yes. ZA/UM says the PC Director’s Cut is available as a free update to all owners of ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies. The PC release date was October 1, 2026. The PlayStation 5 version is announced for November 3, 2026; as of October 4, 2026, that date is still ahead. ZA/UM’s Director’s Cut announcement.
What does the Director’s Cut add?
ZA/UM’s announcement describes new story and presentation content alongside quality-of-life and accessibility changes. The studio estimates approximately 40,000 words of new material; that is its figure, not an independently audited count.
- A new Dramatic Encounter, additional clothing and NPC interactions, and Backstage Mode.
- Completed English voice-over, a newly recorded opening, and a fresh audio mix.
- Ultrawide support for 21:9 and 32:9 displays, inventory sorting, controller remapping, and Photosensitivity Mode.
The aspect ratios are the ones ZA/UM advertises; that does not guarantee every monitor, resolution, or configuration will work identically. ZA/UM’s announcement.

Can you keep or transfer an old save?
ZA/UM’s Director’s Cut announcement and pinned FAQ do not specify whether an original-release save loads in the Director’s Cut. They also do not confirm migration between storefronts or from PC to PlayStation 5. That leaves compatibility unresolved; it is not evidence that old saves fail. If the save matters, keep a separate backup and ask ZA/UM support about your specific version and platform.
Steam advertises Steam Cloud, while GOG lists cloud saves. Those storefront features do not establish that saves move between stores, platforms, or game versions. Steam listing; GOG listing.

Does Zero Parades support controllers, and can you remap one?
Controller support is listed, and the Director’s Cut adds controller remapping. GOG also lists controller support. The official materials reviewed do not name specific controller models, so compatibility with every device should not be assumed. ZA/UM announcement; GOG listing.

ZA/UM’s pinned FAQ lists Steam, GOG, Epic, and NVIDIA GeForce Now as PC availability paths.
