Start by installing the latest Dragon’s Dogma 2 update, then retest in the same place where you noticed the problem. Capcom’s September 2, 2026 announcement says Title Update 3.2 includes frame-rate improvements, but does not promise to eliminate every hitch. On PC, the most useful first checks are to temporarily close recording tools and overlays, allow shader cache to settle after graphics changes, and lower settings one at a time.
The official troubleshooting advice available here is mainly for PC. Console players should install current updates and review the game’s display and performance options; PC-specific steps such as checking overlays, multi-GPU configurations, shader cache, and PC requirements do not apply directly to consoles.
Update the game and identify what kind of slowdown you have
Install the latest update available for your platform, restart the game, and revisit the same area or situation. Capcom’s September 2, 2026 announcement says Title Update 3.2 includes frame-rate improvements and updates some PC system requirements. Before changing settings, note whether the problem is a consistently low frame rate, short intermittent hitches, or drops concentrated in graphics-intensive scenes or populated areas. On PC, record your CPU, GPU, RAM, resolution, graphics settings, current game version, and whether frame generation or overlays are active. Retest in the same location after each change so you can tell whether it made a difference.

Try these PC fixes in order
Close recording software and performance overlays
Capcom warns that applications using system resources, along with some recording applications and performance overlays, can compromise performance and stability. Close them temporarily and retest. Give shader compilation time after graphics changes
Capcom notes that shader cache may take time to compile after changing graphics hardware or making other PC changes. Lower graphics settings one at a time
Capcom advises lowering settings when the frame rate is unstable. Change one setting, compare the same scene, and continue only if needed. This controlled approach helps distinguish a setting-related performance issue from a hitch that persists regardless of image-quality adjustments. Disable SLI or CrossFire while diagnosing
Capcom’s FAQ recommends disabling NVIDIA SLI or ATI CrossFire because these multi-GPU configurations may cause compatibility issues. Treat this as a compatibility check, not a guaranteed stutter fix. Capcom’s Steam FAQ

Check your PC against the requirements for your game version
Capcom’s Steam FAQ, last updated July 20, 2026, lists the following PC figures. They predate Capcom’s September 2, 2026 announcement that some requirements were updated, so they are not confirmed post-Title Update 3.2 requirements. The ray-tracing figure is a feature-specific requirement, not a general recommendation to upgrade whenever frames drop. The FAQ’s minimum estimate also is not a promise of stable performance in every scene. Compare your hardware, resolution, target frame rate, and graphics settings against the current requirements rather than treating an upgrade as a default fix.

Test DLSS Frame Generation only if your PC supports it
Capcom added DLSS Frame Generation to the in-game Graphics options in a May 30, 2024 Steam update. If your hardware supports the feature, you can test it as an optional setting. The announcement does not say it removes stutters or improves performance on every system. Capcom’s May 2024 Steam update

- Platform and current game version

- Whether the issue is low average frame rate, brief hitches, or scene-specific drops
- The location or situation where it occurs
- Whether overlays or frame generation are enabled

Change one variable at a time and keep a note of the result. The official guidance cited here does not establish a driver rollback, third-party optimizer, registry edit, or mod as a general fix.
