How Soup Weather compares with cooking games
Nintendo’s US listing describes Soup Weather as a short narrative exploration game. You play as Bean, explore a town over the course of a week, meet neighbors, play mini-games, and follow a story about her mental health. Nintendo’s description promises that you can “Watch relationships blossom or crumble as you discover Bean’s story.” It does not describe a recipe, restaurant, or food-preparation gameplay loop. Nintendo’s listing gives an October 1, 2026 release date and says behavior on Switch 2 is consistent with Switch.
That makes Soup Weather a useful comparison point for mood and narrative, but not a direct alternative to a cooking simulator. The table separates the games by what you actually do, how much pressure to expect, and whether you can play with someone else. “Cozy” is a matter of taste: a warm setting does not necessarily mean a slow or stress-free game.

REDDEER.GAMES’ Nintendo listing describes taking orders, preparing food, and unlocking recipes and ingredients. The publisher lists 172 recipes, 24 unique ingredients, and four cooking options—blender, pan, pot, and oven—and gives an August 7, 2025 release date. For food and story: Venba
Venba is the stronger option when you want cooking tied to a narrative rather than an ongoing restaurant routine. Nintendo Life describes it as a short story told in chapters connected to dishes, with puzzles that are not especially challenging. That makes it a better match for a reader who values a story-driven cooking game over management or high-pressure service. For a bakery to run: Lemon Cake
Lemon Cake puts the emphasis on operating a bakery and making confections. It offers more of a service-and-management frame than Soup Weather’s narrative exploration, but do not choose it on the assumption that every shift will be leisurely: Nintendo Life warns that serving customers can become hectic. Overcooked! 2 is best approached as co-op cooking-party play, not a quiet substitute for a reflective story game. Nintendo Life uses that framing in its Switch cooking-games guide. Pick it when shared kitchen action is the point; its more chaotic tone makes it a poor fit if you specifically want an unhurried solo experience. SEDAP! A Culinary Adventure
Nintendo describes SEDAP! A Culinary Adventure as a cooking-combat adventure, using the line “Co-op cooking chaos meets thrilling adventure in the world of SEDAP!” Its official Canadian listing supports one-to-two players on a single system. The combination of cooking and combat makes it an option for players who want action alongside food tasks, rather than a direct match for gentle cooking or narrative exploration. Stardew Valley includes cooking, but Nintendo Life describes it as a supporting system for energy, health, and relationships rather than the game’s main focus. Choose it if you want a broader life simulation in which cooking has a role; skip it if your main goal is a dedicated kitchen, bakery, or recipe loop.
