How To Get Path Of Exile 2 Early Access

Check your official Path of Exile account’s Early Access page first; if you do not already qualify, buy a qualifying Supporter Pack through an official store. Steam currently lists December 11, 2026 (PST) as the planned Early Access exit and free-to-play release, but recheck the live listing.

To play Path of Exile 2 during Early Access, first check your official Path of Exile account’s Early Access page: you may already qualify through historical purchases. If you do not have access, buy an Early Access Supporter Pack that includes an access key through an official game or platform store; GGG says the first purchased key is automatically applied to the account used for the purchase. If you would rather wait, Steam currently lists December 11, 2026 (PST) as the planned end of Early Access and says the game will be free-to-play afterward, but check the live listing because plans can change.

How to get access

  1. Check whether your account already has access. Sign in to the official Path of Exile account and open the Early Access page. Check your transaction history too. GGG’s November 2024 Early Access FAQ described historical eligibility for players who had purchased a top-tier US$480 supporter pack or spent at least US$480 in qualifying lifetime purchases on one platform before Path of Exile 2 Early Access Supporter Packs were introduced. The FAQ excluded redeemed points keys. Treat this as a historical, account-specific rule and confirm your status on the account page rather than assuming you qualify.
  2. If you are not eligible, choose an official Supporter Pack that includes an Early Access key. Check the current pack and price in the official Path of Exile or platform store. Pack availability and regional prices may change, so do not rely on old price listings.
  3. Buy on the account and platform you intend to use. GGG says the first purchased key is automatically redeemed to the account used for the purchase. Its 2025 instructions direct console players to buy through the Xbox or PlayStation 5 store. Check that the store and account are the ones you want before paying.
  4. Confirm your entitlement. Return to the official account’s Early Access page to check access and view keys. If you have a key for another PC client, such as Steam or Epic, follow GGG’s instructions for that client separately.
  5. Do not confuse a client key with Early Access. GGG says a key that adds the game to another PC client’s library does not itself grant Early Access to your account.

Access options at a glance

Option What it means What to check
Historical eligibility Your account may already have access based on qualifying past purchases. Check the Early Access page and transaction history on the official account.
Early Access Supporter Pack A qualifying pack includes a key; GGG says the first purchased key is automatically applied to the purchasing account. Verify the pack includes a key and buy through an official game or platform store.
Another PC client A client key can add the game to a PC platform library. A client key does not grant account access by itself.
Wait for free-to-play Steam currently lists December 11, 2026 (PST) as the planned Early Access exit and says the game will be free-to-play afterward. Recheck Steam’s live listing; the date and plan may change.

Should you pay now or wait?

Paying through an official qualifying pack is the documented route if you want to play during Early Access and do not already have access. Waiting may suit you if you do not need to play before the planned Early Access exit. Steam currently lists December 11, 2026 (PST) as the planned exit and says Path of Exile 2 will be free-to-play afterward; this is a future plan, not a guaranteed date.

The free weekend GGG announced for August 29–September 1, 2025 has ended. It is not a current way to get access. GGG said account progress was retained from that event, but that does not make the weekend available again.

Buy safely and avoid access mix-ups

  • Use the official account page to check eligibility before buying.
  • Make sure you are signed in to the intended account before purchasing; GGG says the first purchased key is applied to the purchasing account.
  • For console access, follow the official Xbox or PlayStation 5 store route described by GGG.
  • Avoid unauthorized third-party key sellers. In a January 2025 clarification, GGG advised against buying from unauthorized third-party platforms.
  • For account-specific eligibility or keys, use the official Early Access page rather than relying on forum reports.

FAQ

How do I get a free Path of Exile 2 Early Access key?

Check whether your account qualifies through historical purchases by signing in to the official Path of Exile account and opening its Early Access page. Does a purchased Supporter Pack key automatically apply?

GGG says the first purchased Supporter Pack key that includes Early Access is automatically redeemed on the account used for the purchase. Confirm you are signed in to the intended account before buying.

Does a Steam or Epic client key give me Early Access?

No. GGG distinguishes an account’s Early Access entitlement from a key used to add another PC client to a platform library. A client key does not grant Early Access to the account by itself.

Can I get Path of Exile 2 for free instead of buying access?

Is the 2025 free weekend still available?

No. GGG’s free weekend ran August 29–September 1, 2025, and has ended.
