To check whether your PC can run VALORANT, identify its processor, graphics card, RAM, Windows version and architecture, then compare them with Riot’s requirements. Choose the performance tier you want first: Riot publishes minimum, recommended and high-end example hardware for 30, 60 and 144 FPS respectively. Those labels are categories, not a guarantee of the frame rate your particular PC will deliver.
What to compare against Riot’s requirements
Riot’s Minimum and Recommended PC Hardware Requirements lists these processor and graphics-card examples for each tier:
| Target tier | Processor examples | Graphics examples |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum (30 FPS) | Intel i3-540; AMD Athlon 200GE | Intel HD 4000; AMD Radeon R5 220 |
| Recommended (60 FPS) | Intel i3-4150; AMD Ryzen 3 1200 | NVIDIA GeForce GT 730; AMD Radeon R7 240 |
| High-end (144 FPS) | Intel i5-9400F (2.90 GHz); AMD Ryzen 5 2600X | NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti; AMD Radeon R7 370; Intel Arc A310 |
These are comparison examples, not a shopping list or a benchmark for every computer. Riot also specifies 4 GB of RAM, a processor supporting SSE 4.2 or AVX, DirectX 11 support, and 64-bit Windows 10 (build 19041 or later) or Windows 11. A discrete graphics card must have at least 1 GB of VRAM. Riot notes that newer graphics drivers may require a later Windows build.
Find your PC’s processor, memory and Windows details
- Open the Start menu, search for System Information, and launch it. Alternatively, press Windows+R, enter
msinfo32, and press Enter. - In System Information, note the Processor, Installed Physical Memory (RAM), Windows version and BIOS Mode. Use the processor name to compare with Riot’s examples; make sure the memory is at least 4 GB.
- Confirm that Windows is 64-bit and is a supported version. Windows being supported does not by itself confirm that your display driver is current.
Identify your graphics card and check its VRAM
- Open Task Manager → Performance and select the CPU and GPU entries to see their names.
- If more than one GPU is listed, note whether the PC has integrated graphics and a discrete graphics card. Compare the relevant GPU name with the examples for your chosen tier.
- For a discrete card, check its dedicated video memory (VRAM) and confirm it has at least 1 GB.
A model-name match is useful for comparison, but does not establish the actual frame rate your PC will achieve. Riot’s listed tiers do not provide a universal method for predicting performance on every configuration.

Check processor instruction support and DirectX
Riot requires a CPU that supports SSE 4.2 or AVX, as well as DirectX 11 support. Do not assume that a processor name alone proves instruction-set compatibility, particularly with an unusual or older CPU. Check the exact processor’s documented capabilities if you cannot confirm support from your system information. Likewise, treat DirectX support as a separate requirement rather than inferring it from the Windows version.
For Windows 11, check TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot
VALORANT requires TPM 2.0 and UEFI Secure Boot on Windows 11. Riot’s TPM 2.0 guidance points to the TPM Management console; its Secure Boot guidance explains the related checks.

- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
- Press Windows+R, enter
tpm.msc, and press Enter. Check whether TPM is available and ready, and whether its specification version is 2.0. - Open System Information again with
msinfo32. Check BIOS Mode and Secure Boot State. UEFI mode and Secure Boot enabled are the desired readings.
A TPM may exist but be disabled in firmware, so a failed status check does not necessarily mean the hardware lacks TPM capability. If Secure Boot is unsupported or BIOS Mode shows Legacy, consult the PC or motherboard manufacturer before changing firmware settings or disk layout. Firmware menus differ, and changes should not be improvised.

Passing the hardware comparison is not a guarantee that the game will start. Windows build, graphics drivers, Riot Vanguard checks and firmware settings can also affect launch. Riot says VALORANT does not support cloud gaming or virtual machines, even if the reported hardware appears to meet a tier.
