The headline US console offers for Black Friday 2024 were $424.99 for the PS5 Slim with a disc drive and $374.99 for the PS5 Slim Digital Edition. Those prices are historical, not current offers. The promotion also covered bundles, controllers, PlayStation VR2, selected games and PlayStation Plus, with prices and availability varying by retailer and region.
PS5 console deals and bundles
For US shoppers, USA TODAY’s roundup, published November 22 and updated November 29, 2024, reported PlayStation Direct prices of $424.99 for the PS5 Slim with disc drive and $374.99 for the PS5 Slim Digital Edition. Amazon was listed at $424 and $374, respectively. The small difference between retailer listings is a reminder to compare the actual offer, rather than assume one price applied everywhere. USA TODAY’s dated roundup
| Offer | Reported US price in 2024 | What to compare |
|---|---|---|
| PS5 Slim with disc drive | $424.99 at PlayStation Direct; Amazon was reported at $424 | Retailer, stock and delivery or pickup availability |
| PS5 Slim Digital Edition | $374.99 at PlayStation Direct; Amazon was reported at $374 | Digital-only console versus disc-drive model |
| PS5 Slim Digital Edition with NBA 2K25 | $374 at Amazon | Bundle contents and whether the included game is useful to you |
| PS5 Slim Fortnite Cobalt Star bundle | $424.99 for the disc-drive bundle and $374.99 for the Digital Edition counterpart in Push Square’s guide | Bundle edition and region; prices differed in the guide’s UK listings |
Bundle prices can make a console a better value when the included game or digital content is something you would otherwise buy. Check the exact edition and contents: a similar headline price does not mean two bundles include the same hardware or extras. Controllers, headsets and PlayStation VR2
Accessories were also included in the 2024 promotions. USA TODAY reported Amazon DualSense wireless controller prices ranging from $54 to $59, compared with regular prices of $74.99 to $79.99. It also listed PlayStation VR2 at $349.99 versus a $549.99 regular price. The roundup included a VR2 headset and bundle; check the specific listing to see what is included and whether its comparison price applies to that item.

Sony also named Pulse Elite wireless headsets, Pulse Explore wireless earbuds and console covers among the promoted products. Those examples establish that accessories were part of the event, but not a single price available at every retailer. Selected PS5 games on sale
USA TODAY reported discounts of up to 60% on selected PS5 games. Its examples included Gran Turismo 7 and Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut at $29.99 each, against regular prices of $69.99. These were specific 2024 offers, not prices guaranteed across sellers or editions.

Physical retailer offers and PlayStation Store digital discounts are separate listings. Before buying, confirm the seller, format, edition and sale end date; a price reported for one copy or retailer does not establish the price of a digital version elsewhere. Push Square’s contemporaneous guide also listed title-specific deals such as Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and God of War Ragnarök, but those listings likewise reflect particular offers rather than universal pricing. PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Gear
Sony promoted savings of up to 30% on a 12-month PlayStation Plus membership for eligible people joining during the event. Existing members had different offers: Sony described 25% or 30% discounts for certain plan upgrades. These offers had different eligibility conditions, and PlayStation Plus is a recurring subscription, so check the applicable terms before signing up or upgrading. Sony also advertised up to 40% off selected PlayStation Gear merchandise; that was part of the broader promotion, not a PS5 console price cut. Sony’s announcement and offer terms

When the 2024 offers ran—and why location mattered
Sony said its official Black Friday promotion ran from November 22 through December 2, 2024, across PlayStation Store, PlayStation Direct, PlayStation Gear and participating retailers. Individual retailer offers could have their own end dates, so the promotion window did not mean every listed deal remained available until December 2. Sony explicitly cautioned that “offers will vary by region and retailer.” The US prices above should not be applied to other countries; Push Square’s guide, for example, listed different UK prices.
