It depends what you mean by “fake ID” and where you live. Entering a false birthday conflicts with Roblox’s requirement that account information be accurate and can lead to platform action, but that alone does not establish that you committed a crime. Forging a government ID or using someone else’s identity for age verification is more serious and may raise separate legal issues that depend on local law and the circumstances.
What Roblox’s rules say about false account details
Roblox’s Terms of Use state: “You agree that all information provided to Roblox in connection with your Account will be true, accurate, and up to date.” The Terms also say that violating the Community Standards is a Terms violation and may result in suspension or termination of an account.
That means a false birthday can violate Roblox’s rules even if it is not established as a crime. Roblox’s Community Standards also prohibit certain forms of impersonation. Claiming to be a real person is a separate concern; a fictional persona or an inaccurate birthday is not automatically impersonation.
False birthday versus fake or borrowed ID
| Conduct | Roblox-rule concern | Possible legal concern |
|---|---|---|
| Typing a false date of birth in account details | Conflicts with the requirement for accurate account information; Roblox may take platform action. | A false birthday alone is not shown by the cited U.S. federal statute to be a crime. Other laws depend on jurisdiction and circumstances. |
| Submitting a forged government ID | Misuse of the verification process may lead to platform action. | May implicate laws on false identification documents. The applicable law depends on location and details of the conduct. |
| Using another person’s ID or identifying information | May involve a false verification claim or impersonation, depending on what was represented. | May implicate identity-related laws, depending on the jurisdiction, intent, and use. |
For the United States, 18 U.S.C. § 1028 covers specified conduct involving false identification documents and certain uses of another person’s means of identification under statutory conditions. It does not establish that every false age entered into a game account is a federal crime. Laws outside the United States differ, and state or local law may also matter.

Can you get banned for lying about your age on Roblox?
Roblox’s Terms allow suspension or termination for violations, so inaccurate account information can carry a platform consequence. The cited policy does not promise a particular penalty for every false birthday or say that every case results in a ban. The response can depend on the account and circumstances.
What if I used someone else’s ID to verify my Roblox age?
Do not submit another person’s ID or a forged document. That is different from entering a false birthday: it involves an identification document or another person’s identifying information and may raise additional legal issues. Whether a law was violated depends on where you are and what happened. If you are worried about possible legal exposure, seek advice from a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction.

How to correct an incorrect Roblox birthday or age check
- Go to Roblox’s official Support page or account settings and follow the current instructions for correcting account information. Options may vary by account.
- If you are using age verification, consult Roblox’s ID-verification instructions. Roblox says users must be at least 13 for this route and must use a government-issued photo ID; its examples include a driver’s license, passport, and residency card.
- Follow the age-check and correction options Roblox currently offers for your account. Roblox has described facial age estimation and some correction routes involving a linked parent or valid government ID in certain cases; availability is not guaranteed for every account or situation. Check Roblox’s published age-check information and the in-product instructions.
What Roblox’s age-check figures do—and don’t—show
In a February 5, 2026 post, Roblox reported that 45% of its 144 million daily active users globally had completed an age check. That is company-reported adoption context, not independent evidence that age verification is error-free or that any particular account’s age is correct.
