In Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, solve the Fingerless Hand puzzle in The Pathways of Hesperides by using Heightened Senses to find four fragmented markings, lining each one up from the right viewpoint, and using Telekinesis to collect the finger it reveals. Return all four fingers to the altar hand and interact with it.
How do you solve the Fingerless Hand puzzle?
- At the hand altar, activate Heightened Senses to reveal nearby markings.
- Move around the surrounding rooms and adjust your distance, angle, and elevation until a marking’s separated fragments form one complete symbol.
- When a finger appears, use Telekinesis to pull it in.
- Repeat for all four fingers, then return to the altar hand and interact with it.
This sequence is consistent across walkthroughs from PCGamesN and Selphie1999Gaming; the exact room order and descriptions differ, so the alignment mechanic is the most reliable guide.
Where are the four fingers?
Search the rooms near the altar rather than expecting every mark to be visible from one spot. Heightened Senses helps expose the markings; once one resolves into a full symbol, the corresponding finger appears and can be retrieved with Telekinesis.
PCGamesN’s landmark route
PCGamesN describes one marking in the room left of the altar, another across nearby bookcases, a third near stairs that requires standing on a bannister pillar, and a final marking across ruined stairs reached to the altar’s right. Treat these as landmarks to investigate, not as a universally confirmed room order; the guide’s accompanying images may help with the precise viewpoints.

How do you line up the symbols?
Look for a viewpoint from which the fragments visually overlap into a complete symbol. If they remain separated, change your position: try moving closer or farther away, shifting sideways, or climbing onto nearby scenery to alter your height. A bannister pillar is specifically mentioned for one of PCGamesN’s marks. When the symbol resolves and the finger appears, stop adjusting and use Telekinesis.
Where does the puzzle take place?
Walkthroughs place the puzzle in The Pathways of Hesperides, in an underground temple or basement area associated with Glacier Hotel and the search for the Unbirthed. The broader quest context may help if you have reached the hand while looking for a way forward, but the puzzle itself is completed by collecting and returning its four fingers.

What if the hand will not inspect?
Paradox Interactive’s Summer Update result documented an issue in which the Fingerless Hand’s Inspect prompt could fail to appear and the objective could update incorrectly after the Library door was opened during The Pathways of Hesperides. That report does not establish whether the issue remains in the current game version. If the prompt or objective is stuck after opening that door, the reported issue is a relevant troubleshooting lead, rather than proof that the puzzle steps were missed.
