To use a racing wheel in Gran Turismo 7 on PS5, confirm the exact wheel edition supports PlayStation 5 and GT7, mount it securely, connect its pedals, power supply and USB cable as its manual directs, then let it calibrate and press its PlayStation button to connect to your profile. Start GT7 and check that steering, accelerator and brake inputs register. Switches, button layouts and settings differ by wheel model, so use the instructions for your specific wheel.
1. Check that your exact wheel works with PS5 and GT7
Check both the platform edition and the manufacturer’s compatibility information before connecting a wheel. A similarly named Xbox edition should not be assumed to work on PS5. PlayStation’s wheel overview lists licensed families including Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro, Thrustmaster and Logitech: PlayStation racing wheels. Logitech’s compatibility list includes Gran Turismo 7 for its PlayStation G923/G29/G920 group: Logitech compatibility list. Check the maker’s current page for the precise model and edition you own.
A wheel is optional equipment; you do not need a direct-drive or premium model just to complete setup. When comparing options, prioritize PS5 edition and GT7 support, included pedals, any required mode switch, supported features and fit with your desk or rig. Logitech marks TRUEFORCE compatibility for supported wheels in its list; that feature note should not be generalized to every wheel.
2. Mount the wheel and position the pedals
Clamp the wheel to a stable desk or attach it to a compatible stand or cockpit, following its mounting manual. Position the pedals so they will not slide when pressed, and keep the wheel’s movement clear of nearby objects and cables.

For the Logitech G923 specifically, Logitech documents clamp mounting and bolt points; its guide specifies two M6X1 screws to bolt the wheel unit to a rig: G923 mounting instructions. A separate stand is optional, but check that its mount fits your wheel before using it.
3. Connect the pedals, power and USB
With the console off or as directed by your wheel’s manual, connect each component in the specified order. Do not treat one model’s switch position or cable arrangement as universal.

Logitech G923
Connect the power supply, connect the pedal set to the wheel, and connect the wheel’s USB cable to the PS5. Logitech’s troubleshooting guide lists these checks for pedal problems as well: G923 pedal troubleshooting.
Thrustmaster T300 RS GT
The T300 RS GT manual specifies the PS5-PS4 switch position, pedal and power connections, USB connection, automatic calibration and PS-button sign-in. Follow that model’s sequence rather than applying it to a different base: T300 RS GT user manual.

Thrustmaster T-GT II
The T-GT II has a USB sliding switch whose position depends on the game. Set it as described in the manual, then connect the pedals, power and USB as instructed: T-GT II user manual.
4. Let the wheel calibrate and connect your PS5 profile
After connection, power on the wheel and console as its manual specifies. Keep hands and loose objects clear: some wheels rotate automatically during calibration. For the G923, Logitech says the wheel turns fully to both sides and returns to center after USB connection. Thrustmaster’s T300 RS GT and T-GT II manuals likewise describe automatic calibration.

When calibration is complete, press the wheel’s PlayStation button and select or connect your PS5 profile if prompted. This profile connection is a separate step from simply plugging the wheel into USB.

Launch GT7 and verify steering, accelerator and brake input before beginning a race. Use the game’s control options if an input is missing or behaving incorrectly. Logitech specifically recommends checking pedal mapping; some games can invert pedal behavior, so test the displayed response rather than assuming a faulty pedal set.

Do not copy a different wheel’s button map or settings without checking model-specific guidance. Thrustmaster provides a GT7 PS4/PS5 mapping resource for the T-GT II, but it does not establish settings that apply to every wheel: T-GT II support and mapping resources. There is no single force-feedback or control value established here as best for all wheel models.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
- The wheel does not initialize: Confirm that the exact edition supports PS5, check USB and any required power supply, and follow the model’s manual.
