The Gigabyte BRIX Gaming UHD, model GB-BNi7HG4-950 Rev. 1.0, is a compact 2016 barebone PC pairing a mobile Core i7-6700HQ with a discrete GeForce GTX 950 and 4 GB of GDDR5. Its 2.6 L chassis made it unusually small for a gaming-focused desktop, but it was sold as a barebone system: buyers need to verify whether a particular unit includes memory, storage, an operating system, and the original power adapter.
What the BRIX Gaming UHD includes
GIGABYTE identifies the GB-BNi7HG4-950 Rev. 1.0 as a mini-PC barebone. Its core hardware is an Intel Core i7-6700HQ, clocked at 2.6 GHz base and up to 3.5 GHz, and a discrete GeForce GTX 950 with 4 GB of GDDR5. GIGABYTE’s product page says barebone products do not include an operating system; installed RAM and storage should also be confirmed with the seller rather than assumed. GIGABYTE product specifications
HotHardware’s 2016 North American review described a package containing the processor, graphics, system board, power adapter, and case; its review unit used separately described RAM, a 2.5-inch hard drive, and an M.2 SSD. That is a review-era package description, not a guarantee about every regional listing or used machine. HotHardware’s review
Memory and storage compatibility
The system has two DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM slots and supports up to 32 GB, according to GIGABYTE. Confirm the installed capacity and module compatibility before ordering parts. GIGABYTE product specifications

For storage, the chassis offers two M.2 2280 slots with differing SATA/PCIe interface support, plus two 2.5-inch SATA 6 Gbps bays sized for 7.0 or 9.5 mm drives. Because the M.2 slots do not share identical interface support, check the selected SSD’s interface against the slot specification instead of relying on the form factor alone. Compact dimensions and connections
GIGABYTE gives the enclosure dimensions as 220 × 110 × 110 mm and its volume as 2.6 L. The tall, narrow chassis is a substantial part of the model’s appeal for a desk or entertainment setup where a conventional gaming tower would be too large. GIGABYTE product specifications

Other connections include USB 3.0, USB 3.1 Type-A and Type-C, Gigabit Ethernet, microphone and headphone jacks, and a Kensington lock slot. HotHardware noted that the Type-C port does not support Thunderbolt 3, so it should not be treated as a Thunderbolt external-GPU connection. HotHardware’s review

What 2016 gaming reviews found
The GTX 950 offered a clear advantage over integrated graphics in contemporary testing, but results should be read as evidence about the games, settings, and competing systems tested at the time—not as a current performance ranking. In November 2016, PCWorld found the BRIX ahead of the Intel Skull Canyon NUC with Iris Pro 580 by as much as 227% in its gaming benchmark comparisons. It was 10–18% behind the Alienware Alpha R2 equipped with GTX 960 in gaming. Those percentages are specific to PCWorld’s comparisons. PCWorld’s 2016 review

In Tomb Raider (2013), PCWorld measured 46.7 fps at Ultimate settings and about 68 fps at Ultra. The review said more demanding or newer titles required lower settings to achieve smooth frame rates. These are historical test results, not a promise of performance in other games or on a different configuration. PCWorld’s 2016 review
GIGABYTE’s 2016 launch material described the GTX 950 as capable of running most games at 1080p. That was the manufacturer’s launch-era claim; PCWorld’s tested results provide a more specific picture of settings and frame rates. GIGABYTE’s October 2016 announcement

Quick Recap
What to check before buying a used or old-stock unit
- Ask exactly which RAM modules and how much memory are installed, or budget for compatible DDR4-2133 SO-DIMMs.
- Confirm whether an M.2 SSD or 2.5-inch drive is included, and match an M.2 drive’s SATA or PCIe interface to the correct slot.
- Check that the 180 W adapter is present and suitable for this model; do not infer replacement compatibility from wattage alone.
- Plan for an operating system installation. GIGABYTE’s legacy page lists Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10; current driver availability and compatibility with newer operating systems are not established by that listing.
- Inspect the unit’s condition and confirm seller-specific contents. A barebone designation and a historical review bundle do not guarantee what a particular used listing includes.
