LEGO announced set 72306 on September 3, 2026. It recreates the original PlayStation console and its original controller as a 2026 adult-focused display build. LEGO’s official instructions listing identifies it as an 18+, 1,911-piece set and offers downloadable instructions. Use those instructions for the actual build sequence; the listing does not specify a build time or describe the sequence.
If you use LEGO Builder, LEGO says its app supports 3D instructions, zooming and rotating the model, and saving and tracking build progress. The LEGO US product page describes those app features.
What makes the console build distinctive
- Functional controls: LEGO describes the console’s Open and Power buttons as functional.
- Plug-in controller: The original-style controller connects to the console.
- Hidden game scenes: Opening the console reveals two buildable dioramas inspired by Gran Turismo and Ape Escape. The Gran Turismo scene includes a miniature track and small cars; the Ape Escape scene features a red or blue monkey helmet.

Choose a compact or expanded display
LEGO lists the console at over 6 cm high, 26 cm wide, and 19 cm deep. Those measurements apply to the console itself, not necessarily the full area needed for every arrangement. A separately placed controller and dioramas may need additional width or depth depending on where you position them.
