- Main activity: Decide whether you want to create, farm, explore, solve puzzles, or manage a shop. “Cozy” alone doesn’t tell you what you’ll spend most of your time doing.
- Challenge and pace: Check a current store description or gameplay footage for time pressure and difficulty if you prefer a particular pace; comparable details were not established for every recommendation.
- Solo or multiplayer: Multiplayer is noted for Stardew Valley in the matching guide. Don’t assume the other recommendations support the same play setup; verify each title’s listing.
- Platform and hardware: The matching guide frames its picks as Windows 10/11 games, while PC Gamer lists PC options. Confirm the individual title’s supported operating system and minimum requirements for your device. This is especially important if you’re looking for a game for a MacBook.
