Yes. Delta Force: Black Hawk Down supports solo play, but its publisher says solo is “incredibly challenging” and recommends a full squad of four for the optimal experience. That is the publisher’s recommended group size; the FAQ does not explicitly call four a formal player limit.
How many players can play Black Hawk Down co-op?
The campaign is designed around a four-player squad. Garena Delta Force’s official FAQ says you can play solo, but strongly recommends a full squad of four. It does not explicitly state that four is a hard maximum, so the precise answer is: four is the recommended squad size, while the FAQ does not establish a formal cap.
Can you play solo?
Yes. The publisher warns that solo play is “incredibly challenging.” If you want the experience the publisher recommends, bring a full squad rather than treating solo as an equally supported difficulty option.
How squad missions and chapter unlocks work
The campaign has seven chapters, and each unlocks after the previous mission is completed, according to the publisher’s campaign announcement and FAQ. All operators have Chapter 1 unlocked by default. When you play in a squad, the captain’s progress determines which missions are available. After the squad clears a mission, its members unlock the next chapter. Because availability follows the captain’s progress, individual completion records may differ if squad members began at different points in the campaign.

Is Black Hawk Down free, and what do you need to play it?
The campaign was released as free content for PC, with the publisher announcing availability from February 21, 2025 at 02:00 UTC. Steam displays February 20, 2025 as the DLC release date and lists it as free; the date difference reflects the announcement and store’s calendar presentation. On Steam, the DLC listing requires the Delta Force base game.
Steam’s PC listing gives these system requirements. They are storefront specifications, not independent performance testing:

Which platforms and controls are confirmed?
The campaign announcement and Steam listing establish a free PC release and a Steam base-game requirement. The Xbox store page lists Delta Force generally for Xbox Series X|S and describes online co-op for 3–4 players, but that game-level listing does not independently confirm the Black Hawk Down campaign’s player limit or availability across every platform and region.
In a February 2025 FAQ, the publisher said only keyboard and mouse controls were supported at that time, with controller support planned for a future update. That dated statement does not establish whether controller support is available now. Check the current game and platform listings for campaign availability and input support before installing.
