Total Mayhem Games describes We Were Here Tomorrow as an online co-op puzzle adventure for two. Players have separate roles and abilities and are often apart, so progress depends on explaining what each person sees and coordinating solutions. That makes it a natural fit for a pair who want conversation and problem-solving to be the core of play, rather than simply fighting side by side.

Mycopunk: a co-op shooter reaching version 1.0
Mycopunk is a co-op first-person shooter in which a squad of robots takes on missions on alien planets. Its October date is not a first release: PC Gamer reported that version 1.0 was scheduled for October 20, 2026, after the game had already been available in Early Access. Players considering it should therefore distinguish the upcoming full-release milestone from the existing playable Early Access version. PC Gamer’s September 20, 2026 report covers the 1.0 schedule.
Escape From Playtime: up to four players in a toy factory
Escape From Playtime is a one-to-four-player co-op survival-horror game set in an abandoned toy factory. Its Steam Early Access date is October 21, 2026. The developer also announced an open beta starting October 1; the announcement does not establish how long that beta lasts or whether it remains available. Steam Next Fest is a demo event, not proof these games are participating
Steam Next Fest runs October 19–26, 2026. Valve describes it as a multi-day event where players can try demos, chat with developers, watch livestreams, and discover upcoming Steam games. It may be a useful time to look for co-op demos in general, but the available announcements do not confirm that any of the three games above will take part. Check the Steamworks Upcoming Steam Events documentation and the games’ own store pages for participation announcements.
One four-player comparison has already released
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 offers four-player co-op, making it a relevant comparison for groups looking for squad-based play. However, publisher Enad Global 7 announced August 25, 2026 as its release date, which is already past as of October 4, 2026. It should not be described as an upcoming October release. The publisher’s July 23, 2026 announcement gives the launch date and platform information.

Which one should your co-op group follow?
- Choose We Were Here Tomorrow if: you have exactly two players and want communication-driven, asymmetric puzzles. Its announced crossplay spans PC/Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
- Watch Mycopunk if: your group prefers shooting missions and is interested in the transition from Early Access to version 1.0, rather than a brand-new launch.
- Watch Escape From Playtime if: your group wants survival horror and exploration, with support for one to four players, and is comfortable with an Early Access release.
- Browse Steam Next Fest if: you want to discover and try demos broadly. Do not assume a particular title is participating unless its developer or Steam confirms it.
