If you do cast from a phone, check that the app supports it and that both devices can discover each other on the same Wi-Fi network. A TV app or a working Cast connection cannot overcome a match that is not licensed in your location.
Start with the match and your location
Cricket streaming rights depend on the event and territory, so a service that carries one series may not carry the match you want. Check the event organizer’s current broadcaster information or the rights holder’s schedule for your country before troubleshooting the TV.
The ICC broadcaster listing illustrates how services are assigned by territory, but it is dated 22 February 2022. Use it as an example of regional rights, not as a current guide to where a new match is available. Cricbuzz likewise says its live-streaming availability varies by region and event; check the relevant series page for the match.
ICC.tv says its live coverage is selected and geographically restricted. Its FAQ, published 10 June 2021, describes web, iOS and Android access, plus Chromecast support on Android and AirPlay on iOS. That older device guidance is not confirmation that ICC.tv carries a particular match today; check its current schedule and the app.

Choose a TV route the broadcaster supports
Once you have confirmed the match is available, check the broadcaster’s device list and choose the simplest supported way to put it on screen. A native TV app avoids the phone-to-TV discovery step involved in casting, but it still requires a compatible model and an available match.

These options are not interchangeable guarantees: compatibility varies by service and device generation. Cricbuzz lists Android TV/Chromecast, Amazon Fire Stick and Apple TV among its supported TV device families. Willow by Cricbuzz lists Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku, Android TV, Chromecast and Samsung TV. Check the service’s current device page before choosing a route.

Check Samsung model year for Willow
Willow by Cricbuzz states that it is available exclusively in the United States and Canada. Its FAQ says the latest Samsung app targets 2022–2026 models, with version differences; 2021 and older models may not yet have it. Check the exact model’s app store and Willow’s current compatibility information before buying a device. Willow suggests an alternate supported device or mobile casting where the TV app is unavailable.
Consider a streaming stick only after checking support
A streaming stick can provide a native-app route when a TV does not have the broadcaster’s app, but it is not a universal fix. Confirm that the chosen broadcaster supports the specific device family and that it offers the match in your location.

Set up Google Cast without discovery problems
- Update the streaming app. Confirm that the broadcaster app is current and supports Google Cast.
- Put both devices on the same Wi-Fi. Connect the phone or other sender and the TV or Cast receiver to the same network, not separate guest or isolated networks.
- Allow local network discovery where required. On newer Apple operating systems, check the app’s local network permission if the receiver is not appearing.
- Open the broadcaster app and use its Cast control. Google notes that the control’s position varies by app. Select the TV or receiver from the available devices.
Google’s Cast help covers same-Wi-Fi requirements, current Cast-enabled apps and local network permissions on newer iOS and macOS versions. A TV’s screen-mirroring feature alone does not establish that the cricket service supports casting.
For ICC.tv specifically, its FAQ says Android supports Chromecast and iOS supports AirPlay, and instructs viewers to connect the sender and TV device to the same Wi-Fi. The FAQ is dated 10 June 2021, so confirm current behavior in the app.

Fix the problem that is actually stopping playback
The Cast button is missing
- Check that the specific cricket app supports casting; the TV’s general mirroring feature is not enough.
- Update the app and check local network permission on applicable Apple devices.
- Make sure the sender and receiver are on the same Wi-Fi network.
The TV appears, but connection fails
- Check that both devices remain on the same network and are not separated by guest Wi-Fi or network isolation.
- Restart the app and receiver, then follow the broadcaster’s troubleshooting instructions.
The app opens, but the match is unavailable
- Check the event schedule and the service’s rights for your country; the problem may be availability rather than casting.
- Check the device’s region settings and whether a VPN or proxy is affecting location detection.
The stream loads indefinitely or reports a VPN or ad blocker
- Check your connection and location settings, then temporarily disable a VPN, proxy, ad blocker or DNS filter if the service identifies it as a problem.
- Try a less restrictive network, update the app, and sign out and back in.
Cricbuzz and Willow describe region, VPN/proxy, ad-blocking, connection, app-update and sign-in checks in their support information: Cricbuzz’s FAQ and Willow by Cricbuzz’s FAQ. Follow the instructions for your service; a setting change cannot make an unlicensed match available in your territory.
The broadcaster app is missing from the TV
- Search the TV’s app store and check the exact model and year against the broadcaster’s device list.
- If the app is unsupported, check whether a supported streaming device offers the broadcaster’s native app before relying on casting.
Pick the route that avoids your specific failure
If casting discovery is the problem, a compatible native TV app is usually the more direct route. If the TV lacks the app, a supported streaming device may help. If the service supports casting but the receiver is not found, address network and permission settings. If the match itself is unavailable, changing the playback method will not solve the rights issue. In every case, check both match availability and device support: they are separate requirements.
