Before claiming a Seahawks running back, verify his current availability and likely workload, then weigh that opportunity against your league settings, waiver cost, and best alternative. Seattle’s injury picture has changed since its preseason outlook, but the available reports do not establish a current carry share or fantasy projection.
What Seattle’s current reports establish
As of the displayed reports for Week 4 of the 2026 season, Seattle lists Zach Charbonnet (knee) as out and George Holani (rib) as limited at Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday practices; the team table shows no game-status designation for Holani. The NFL’s Week 4 report also lists Jadarian Price (chest) as out. These are week-specific statuses, not a forecast for a later game. Check the Seahawks’ official injury report and the NFL Week 4 injury report again near your waiver deadline.
Seattle’s Aug. 30 initial-roster outlook expected Price and Holani to split early work, with Charbonnet returning later from an ACL injury. That was a preseason projection, not evidence of current usage; subsequent injury and roster information supersedes it where it differs. CBS Sports’ displayed 2026–27 depth chart places Emanuel Wilson first among Seattle backs and notes Price on injured reserve. Treat that as secondary context, and verify active status and role against current team and league reporting. (Seattle’s initial 2026 roster outlook; CBS Sports’ Seahawks depth chart.)
Those sources do not establish current snaps, carries, targets, routes, goal-line chances, or a reliable fantasy-points projection. A depth-chart position or injury designation alone cannot tell you how much a back will play.

Confirm availability near the deadline
Look for the latest practice participation and final game status. “Limited” does not mean ruled out, and a report can change after you first read it. If the game-status designation is missing or unclear, do not treat that as confirmation that the player will be active.
-
Verify the active roster and depth order
Check whether the player is active, on injured reserve, or otherwise unavailable, and make sure the depth chart is current. Use the dated preseason outlook only as background—not proof of today’s role.

Find evidence of actual usage
Before projecting a workload, look for recent game evidence or reliable reporting on carries, targets, snaps, routes, third-down work, and goal-line opportunities. Distinguish a temporary opening created by a teammate’s injury from a role likely to remain when that teammate returns. Seattle’s Fantasy Insider archive is one place to check for dated team fantasy coverage; confirm any role claim against the relevant game and date.
-
Account for the other backs
Identify which healthy runners could share work. A player listed first may not own passing downs or short-yardage opportunities, and a nominal lead back can still have a limited fantasy role if those jobs are split.

Match the add to your league
Scoring format, starting requirements, bench depth, waiver priority or remaining FAAB, and your roster’s immediate needs all affect the value of the claim. A back with uncertain or narrow usage may be more attractive when you need depth than when you need a dependable starter; the right call depends on your lineup and alternatives.
-
Price the opportunity cost
Compare the best other player available and decide whom you would drop. Spend waiver priority or FAAB in proportion to the role you can actually support with evidence and the uncertainty around it, rather than reacting to a player’s name or one injury update.

How to compare Seahawks backs
If more than one Seattle back is available, compare the same factors for each player. The reports and depth-chart context cited above do not supply numerical usage values, so leave the comparison qualitative unless you have current game logs or reporting to support figures.

| Scoring chances | Evidence of goal-line or other short-yardage work. |
| Receiving role | Targets, routes, and third-down use, especially in leagues that reward receptions or receiving yardage. |
