To stream an NFL game, first check which network or service has that specific game in your location, then choose a device that supports it. NFL+ offers live local and primetime games on phones and tablets, but not on TVs or computers. For Sunday afternoon games outside your local market, NFL says you need Sunday Ticket through YouTube TV.
Start with the game, not the app
There is no single streaming app that carries every NFL game everywhere. Rights depend on the game, your location, your subscription or TV-provider package, and the screen you use. A television may support the NFL app without being able to show every live game through an NFL+ subscription.
For the current season, the NFL’s general guide assigns local Sunday afternoon games to CBS and FOX, Sunday Night Football to NBC, Monday Night Football to ESPN/ABC, and Thursday Night Football and the Black Friday game to Prime Video. NFL Network carries selected games, while special games may appear on other services: the guide lists YouTube for the São Paulo game and Netflix for Christmas games. These assignments can change by season and event, so check the NFL’s Ways to Watch guide and local listings for the specific game.
How to watch on a phone or tablet
NFL+ offers live local and primetime regular-season and postseason games on phones and tablets, subject to market and broadcast rules. Its live-game access is not a way to watch those games on a TV or in a computer browser. NFL+ also includes live NFL Network and live audio; NFL+ Premium adds NFL RedZone and game replays. Those are different viewing options, not substitutes for the live broadcast of every game. See the NFL’s current regular-season access overview for the current access rules.

How to watch on a smart TV
Use the app for the network or streaming service carrying the game, or sign in with a participating TV provider where authentication is supported. Which option works depends on the game, your provider package, location, and device. NFL says TV-provider authentication can provide access to NFL Network and local CBS, FOX, and NBC stations for participating providers; it also mentions third-party authentication for Paramount+ and Peacock subscribers. Check your exact device model
The NFL lists Apple TV, Android/Google TV, Fire TV, Roku, Xbox Series S/X, and certain Samsung, LG, and Vizio models among supported connected-TV platforms. Support is model- and software-specific: confirm your television or streaming device and minimum software requirements on the NFL+ compatible devices list. If your television is not supported, a Roku streaming device is one option on the NFL’s list, but hardware alone does not provide a subscription or game rights.

Why NFL+ live games do not play on a TV
NFL+ live local and primetime regular-season and postseason games are limited to phones and tablets. Installing the NFL app on a connected TV does not change that screen restriction. The NFL also says those live games cannot be cast from a phone to a television; casting may work for other NFL+ content. See NFL’s casting rules.
How to watch on a computer
For a computer, use the broadcaster or streaming service assigned to the game and verify whether it requires a standalone subscription or a participating TV-provider login. NFL support says NFL.com/web access and live desktop viewing can depend on the provider and the particular content. An NFL+ subscription does not make every live game available in a computer browser. How to watch an out-of-market Sunday afternoon game
NFL says live out-of-market Sunday afternoon games require NFL Sunday Ticket, available through YouTube TV. Sunday Ticket is separate from NFL+ and is not included with it. Check the NFL’s Sunday Ticket access information for current availability and terms.

If a game is missing or will not play
- Confirm the game’s network or service in the current NFL guide and your local listing.
- Check whether the game is local, national, or out of market; a service may not carry all three categories.
- Verify that your subscription or TV-provider package includes the channel or event, and that your provider participates in authentication.
- Check the exact device model and software against the service’s compatibility requirements.
- Distinguish a live game from NFL Network, RedZone, live audio, or a replay; these are separate content types and may have different access rules.
