Injury designations and starting groups can change close to tip-off, so use live, game-specific information—not an old search snippet or cached social post.
Where to check NBA injury updates
- Open the NBA Official injury report. The league publishes season-specific reports. The accessible link here is for the 2025–26 season; check NBA Official’s season selector or current search result to make sure you are viewing the report for the season you need. A current-season link may be referenced by team materials even when it is not readily accessible through a browser.
- Check the relevant team’s game-day communications. A team’s current site announcement or official account can help confirm a specific update. Practices vary by team, so look for an explicit date, game, or update time rather than assuming every club posts the same way. The Orlando Magic game notes illustrate one team resource; they are not a universal guide to every team’s channels.
- Use aggregators as a convenience, not the final authority. A third-party lineup service or social post may help you spot a change, but verify an important status against the league report and the team’s current communication. There is no established speed or accuracy ranking among services.
Where to find the starting lineup for a game
Open NBA.com’s Daily Lineups page, also labeled “NBA Daily Lineups” and reachable through Players > Starting Lineups. It is a league-owned destination for daily lineups. Because the page is dynamic, its live entries may not appear in a search result or a text-only preview; open the page itself and check the game you care about.
For a close-to-tip decision, cross-check the lineup with the team’s current game-day announcement. A projected lineup from an unofficial service is not the same thing as a confirmed starting five.
What the 30-minute lineup rule does—and does not—mean
The NBA rulebook says: “At least 30 minutes before the game is scheduled to begin, the scorers shall be supplied with the name and number of each player who will start the game.” That requirement is for delivery to the scorers; it does not promise that NBA.com, a team site, or an app will publish the lineup at exactly that time. Warm-up decisions, injuries, late scratches, and changes during a game can make an earlier lineup snapshot stale. The cited sources do not establish a universal public refresh interval, so do not rely on claims that lineups always become public at a particular minute or that a report refreshes on a fixed schedule.

- Authority: Is it from the league or the team, or from an aggregator or individual post?
- Specificity: Does it state an official injury designation, or only suggest a possible lineup?
- Recency: Can you see a current, game-specific timestamp or announcement?
- Confirmation: Does a league or team source corroborate the change?
When the answer matters near tip-off, refresh the official injury report and the team’s current announcement instead of relying on cached results. The exact status categories, current-season report schedule, and public update cadence are not established by the sources linked here; consult the live current-season report for its labels and timing.
