You can watch MLB without cable, but no single subscription reliably carries every game. For 2026, start with MLB’s team-by-team viewing guide: choose the local streaming service or channel for an in-market team, MLB.TV for most out-of-market games, and the named national partner for nationally exclusive games. Check blackout rules, the game listing and your location before subscribing.
Choose a service based on the game you want
First identify the team, the viewer’s location and whether the game is local, out of market or nationally exclusive. The correct route can change from one game to the next.
| Game type | Where to start | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Local, in-market team game | Find the club in MLB’s 2026 team guide; use its listed in-market streaming option or local TV channel. | Services and territories vary by team. MLB said all 30 clubs had a direct-to-consumer streaming option in 2026. |
| Out-of-market regular-season game | MLB.TV through ESPN in the United States; international viewers should start with MLB’s international purchase route. | Blackouts apply. Nationally exclusive games may be carried elsewhere. |
| Nationally exclusive game | Check the game listing for its named partner or channel. | Partners and packages vary by game; availability can also be geographically restricted. |
| Replay or archived game | Check MLB.TV’s on-demand and archived game offerings. | The available sources do not establish that every game is available immediately or in every territory and package. |
How to watch your local MLB team
Open MLB’s 2026 team-by-team guide and find the club. Follow the in-market streaming option or local broadcast channel listed for that team and territory. MLB reported that all 30 clubs had a direct-to-consumer option in 2026, but that does not mean one service carries every local team. The guide said 14 teams added a new DTC option during the offseason.
For clubs whose games are distributed by MLB, the MLB.TV 2026 guide says their in-market DTC products deliver local games in the club’s home territory and remove local blackouts for those games. Team arrangements, prices and packages can differ, so check the club’s listing rather than assuming MLB.TV is the local option for every market.

How to watch out-of-market games with MLB.TV
MLB.TV is primarily the route for live out-of-market regular-season games. MLB’s ESPN-hosted MLB.TV page lists home and away feeds, on-demand and archived games, MLB Big Inning, and MLB Network access in the United States. Blackout restrictions apply, and nationally exclusive games may be carried by a partner instead.
US plans and billing
The ESPN-hosted page lists a 2026 seasonal plan at $149.99 per season and a monthly plan at $29.99 per month. It also lists a $134.99 seasonal plan for existing ESPN Unlimited subscribers for 2026. These are season-specific prices, not a guarantee of current or future rates; check the checkout screen for current pricing, renewal and billing terms. The page says new US subscribers can purchase through ESPN platforms and watch in both the ESPN and MLB apps after linking accounts. Existing direct MLB subscribers continued to be billed through MLB, while international subscribers continue to purchase through MLB.
Where nationally exclusive games are shown
Some regular-season and postseason games are available through a national rights partner rather than MLB.TV or a club’s local service. MLB’s 2026 team guide lists games and packages involving ESPN, FOX, TBS, Apple TV, NBC and Peacock. MLB’s rights information also names Netflix in connection with live-event rights, including 2026 Opening Night.

For the 2026–2028 seasons, MLB says agreements with ESPN, NBCUniversal and Netflix cover selected events. The guide lists MLB Tuesday on TBS, Friday Night Baseball on Apple TV, FOX games, weekly ESPN exclusives, and Sunday Leadoff and Sunday Night Baseball on NBC and Peacock. Peacock says Sunday Leadoff is a weekly Sunday daytime showcase that requires Peacock Premium; Sunday Night Baseball airs on NBC and Peacock. Check the specific game’s listing: a partner’s presence in the rights lineup does not mean every game is exclusive to it or available in every location.
How to watch later, on a TV or outside the US
On-demand and archived games
MLB.TV lists on-demand and archived games, but the available service information does not promise that every live game becomes available immediately or in every account, package or territory. Check the specific game in your account before relying on a replay.
TV and device access
MLB’s ESPN-hosted page lists support for devices and platforms including Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, iOS and tvOS, Android, Samsung TV, LG, Vizio, Xbox and PlayStation. Compatibility and purchase flows differ: the page warns that MLB.TV cannot be purchased on every device. Confirm that the app works on your device and complete any purchase through a supported route.

Viewing internationally
Outside the United States, start with MLB’s international purchase route, but verify country-specific rights, restrictions and the game’s availability. The published information does not resolve every international territory’s rules.
Check blackouts before paying
A blackout is a geographic restriction on a particular game, not necessarily a sign that the stream or subscription is broken. MLB.TV’s US service is subject to blackout restrictions. Use the location lookup available through MLB’s service information and check the game before subscribing.

Partner services can have their own restrictions. Peacock’s blackout guidance warns that select regular-season, special-event and postseason games may be unavailable because of territorial restrictions—even when the viewer’s team is away or the game is not televised in that club’s home market. Verify the game, viewer location, local territory, national exclusivity and carrying app or channel before paying.
