CentroLeaks’ figure, reported by GameSpot, is unconfirmed—and “forms” may include variants of existing Pokémon rather than 300 entirely new species. The Pokémon Company has officially announced the games, their setting, platform, 2027 release year, and three starters, but not that number.
What is officially confirmed about Pokémon Gen 10?
The Pokémon Company announced Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves on February 27, 2026, describing them as the newest entries in the series. Both are planned for simultaneous worldwide release on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. No specific release date has been announced. The official announcement describes an open world spanning windswept islands and a vast ocean, with distinct ecosystems and natural forces that may obstruct players’ paths.
The announced partner Pokémon are Browt, a Grass-type; Pombon, a Fire-type; and Gecqua, a Water-type. The announcement gives each a species category and basic profile details. It does not publish a Pokédex total.
The press page also cautions that its imagery is conceptual and that not all footage represents actual gameplay. Trailer visuals therefore should not be treated as confirmation of finished mechanics.

What does the leak claim?
In a July 8, 2026 report, GameSpot attributed the figure “around 300 new Pokémon / forms” to CentroLeaks. GameSpot said CentroLeaks described “the number of 300 new Pokémon placeholders” as the only point it had heard independently from multiple sources. That is still a report about a leak, not confirmation from The Pokémon Company.
The wording matters: a count of Pokémon and forms is not necessarily a count of 300 distinct new species. “Forms” could include variants or other versions of existing Pokémon, and “placeholders” does not establish what will appear in the finished games. The number should be treated as an unverified rumor, not a confirmed Pokédex statistic. GameSpot’s report discusses that distinction.

Which other rumored details are reliable?
PokéDigest’s roundup, first published August 8 and updated through August 14, 2026, collects additional leak claims about mechanics, story structure, characters, Pokémon designs, Gym types, and development. The roundup labels them unconfirmed, and its updates include conflicting versions—for example, a revised Elite Four type lineup that differs from an earlier circulated account.
A long or frequently repeated rumor list is not the same as independent verification. Until the publisher confirms a detail, claims about the games’ story, roster, or mechanics remain speculation; the available roundup itself illustrates why individual details can change or contradict one another. PokéDigest’s roundup provides the context for those claims.
