What’s included in the Stranger Things DLC?
Minecraft describes an open-world adventure that follows material from all four seasons, with locations and story elements including Mirkwood forest, the Upside Down, Starcourt Mall, and Vecna. The world changes as players complete levels. The announced activities include tracing clues, solving puzzles, and fighting enemies.

Players can switch between characters such as Eleven, Dr. Brenner, Suzie, Eddie, and Vecna, each with distinct abilities. The announcement also says the DLC supports multiplayer. Which Minecraft version do you need?
The add-on requires Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, and the base game is sold separately. Check the edition and platform shown in your store before buying; the DLC listing is not a replacement for Minecraft itself.

Does it work on mobile or Nintendo Switch?
Mobile
Minecraft’s December 26, 2025 announcement says, “Additionally, 6gb RAM or higher is required on mobile.” It does not name every supported phone or tablet, so meeting the memory figure alone should not be treated as confirmation that a particular device is compatible. Check the current listing and your device’s requirements before purchase.
Nintendo Switch
The same announcement said Minecraft was unable to deliver the DLC on Nintendo Switch “at this time.” That describes the situation stated on December 26, 2025, not a confirmed October 2026 status. Check the Nintendo eShop or Minecraft Marketplace on your device for current availability.

Minecraft says the world can be played in multiplayer, but the announcement does not provide a detailed platform-by-platform feature matrix or specify every multiplayer condition. Check the current listing for your platform and the applicable Minecraft multiplayer requirements.

The US Xbox Store listing surfaced for this article displayed $8.99 and a December 1, 2025 release date, and stated that a separate game was required; treat that as listing information, not a guaranteed current price or a universal release date.
