Start with LEGO’s official Replacement Parts page and choose the route that matches the problem: an individual missing piece, a damaged piece, or a missing bag. Before submitting a request, identify the set and the exact piece. If LEGO cannot supply it or the request route does not fit, check its separate buy-pieces option for your country.
Choose the right route for the problem
LEGO separates replacement requests from buying pieces, and some situations have their own support topics. Use the route that describes what happened rather than trying to solve every issue with the same form.

| You want to buy a piece | Use the separate “Buy Bricks” or Pick a Brick route where available. Buying is different from requesting a replacement. |
| An instruction booklet or another special component is missing | Choose its dedicated support topic from LEGO’s help index rather than submitting it as an ordinary brick request. |
Find the set number and piece number

Find the set number on the box or in the building instructions. If the box is gone, use the set information in the instructions.

Open the instructions’ parts inventory or contents list and locate the element. Record its piece number, color, and the quantity needed.

If you cannot confidently identify the piece, contact LEGO support instead of guessing. LEGO’s help index includes guidance for identifying set and piece numbers and finding special pieces.
Accurate identification matters: a similar-looking element in another color or shape may not fit the build or match the set.

Open LEGO’s Replacement Parts page for your country.

Select the matching issue type—missing or damaged piece—and follow the prompts to identify the set and element. For a missing bag or another special category, open that dedicated help topic instead.

Review the available options and submit the request through the local service page. If the online route cannot resolve it, contact LEGO support with your country, set number, piece number, and a concise description of the issue.
LEGO’s US customer-service page says requests to replace broken bricks are free of charge. That is not a universal promise for every country, ordinary lost piece, older set, or product line: eligibility and availability depend on the local service route and the case. Check your country’s current page for its terms.

When to buy the piece instead
LEGO presents buying pieces as a separate option. Its US customer-service page points customers to Pick a Brick, while the Canada replacement page has a distinct “Buy pieces” route. Check the live page for your country and search using the exact piece identifier where possible.
If LEGO does not have the element, a parts marketplace may be another option. Before ordering, verify the seller, exact part identity, color, condition, quantity, and compatibility. Stock and listing details vary, so do not assume that a part shown in one listing is the right match for your set.

Special case: LEGO Education sets
For LEGO Education sets, check whether a replacement pack covers the commonly lost element. LEGO Education’s BricQ Motion Essential support also directs users to LEGO.com for elements outside those packs. It provides item-number guidance and directs customers outside the US to local distributors, where applicable.
What to expect with older sets and repairs
LEGO lists a support topic for older-set replacements, but the help pages do not establish a universal age cutoff or guarantee that retired parts remain in stock. Search or ask about the exact element through the current local route.
Replacement parts are not the same as a repair service. LEGO Canada says it does not provide repair services or maintenance and repair information, although some replacement parts are available. If an element itself is damaged, use the applicable replacement route rather than expecting LEGO to repair it.
