Choose the LEGO PlayStation 72306 if your main draw is the original PlayStation: it is a near-life-size, 1,911-piece adult display model with a plug-in controller and removable game-inspired dioramas. It does not play games. Choose a different set if you would rather display a console-and-TV scene, an Atari 2600 with cartridges and a hidden room, a handheld Game Boy, or a configurable SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive.
What the LEGO PlayStation 72306 includes
The original PlayStation model is 18+ and measures 6 cm high, 26 cm wide, and 19 cm deep, according to LEGO’s US product page. It is a display build, not a functioning console: it cannot run games. LEGO lists a controller that plugs into the console, power and open buttons designed as interactive details, and removable dioramas inspired by Ape Escape and Gran Turismo. Which set fits your display?
Choose PlayStation 72306 for original PlayStation nostalgia
This is the clearest choice if you want a substantial, near-life-size original PlayStation on a shelf, with its controller and small game references as part of the display. Allow for its 26 cm width and 19 cm depth, plus room to handle the removable dioramas. Its announced $179.99 US price is higher than the prices shown for the smaller Game Boy and SEGA listings, but the formats and included features are different; price alone does not establish which is better value.
Choose the NES for a console-and-TV scene
The NES set is the option among these that turns a console into a larger gaming vignette: it adds a TV, controller, and cartridge, and the TV display moves using a handle. LEGO marks it retired on its US page, so availability and price depend on what is currently listed by sellers.
Rank #2
- Light Accessories Only: BrickSoul LED light kit is designed for the LEGO PlayStation 72306 building set; lighting and touch-control components only are included, and the brick model is sold separately
- Layered Retro Gaming Lighting: Color-changing illumination adds depth to the gray console and original-style controller while drawing attention to the disc lid, front controls and hidden diorama areas. The shifting accent color turns the near 1:1 display into a stronger game-room centerpiece without losing the clean retro-console look.
- Touch Color-Changing Control: Use the touch area for power and color changes, then double-tap to cycle through multiple lighting effects. Press and hold to fine-tune pattern speed and brightness, from a steady retro-console glow to a more dynamic game-room scene.
- Easy Installation with Online Guides: Numbered light packs, slim wiring, and online video and PDF instructions help keep installation clear and cable placement neat around the console and controller; power with the included battery box, a compatible power bank, or a 5V USB adapter; batteries not included
- 1-Year Replacement Support: Made for retro gaming fans, collectors, and display builders who want to upgrade their 72306 console display; contact us through Amazon messages for installation help or product support
Choose Atari 2600 for cartridges, scenes, and a hidden room
The Atari build is centered on the console and joystick but expands into three game cartridges, game scenes, and a hidden 1980s room. That makes it a fit for someone who wants multiple small details to discover rather than a single near-life-size console model. LEGO marks it retired on its US page.
Choose Game Boy for a handheld-shaped display
The 421-piece Game Boy is a near-1:1 handheld replica with swappable display elements. It offers a different silhouette and format from the full-size home consoles; LEGO’s US page showed a $59.99 price and listed availability when accessed.

Choose SEGA for Genesis or Mega Drive configuration
The SEGA Genesis Console set lets you choose between Genesis and Mega Drive configurations, making it the natural pick if regional console identity matters to you. LEGO’s US page showed $39.99 and listed availability when accessed. LEGO’s page gives inconsistent piece-count figures in its listing and description, so this comparison omits a definitive count.

What to check before buying
- Verify live status and price. LEGO listing status can change, and retired sets may only be available from other sellers. Compare the price at checkout rather than assuming an announced or previously displayed amount is current.
- Check the dimensions for your shelf. LEGO lists the PlayStation at 6 cm high, 26 cm wide, and 19 cm deep. The cited product pages do not provide directly comparable footprint measurements for every alternative, so there is no supported overall smallest-to-largest ranking.
- Pick by the object and display format. These are display models with different shapes and features, not playable consoles. LEGO describes moving or swappable display details, but no comparative build-time, difficulty, hands-on quality, or objective value assessment is established by the cited product information.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
