“Roblox condo game” is a community term for a user-created social experience associated with sexual content or roleplay. It is not an official Roblox game mode: the term refers to experiences or activity that conflict with Roblox’s rules.
What “condo game” means on Roblox
The phrase describes a condo-like social space where players may encounter sexual acts, explicit language, or sexual roleplay. A 2023 academic case study of harmful design in Roblox user-generated virtual worlds discusses these experiences and reports that some users described invite-only access as a way to avoid moderation. That is historical, reported context—not evidence that the practice is current or widespread. Read the case study.
There is no reliable published figure in the sources cited here for how many such experiences currently exist or how often players encounter them. Safety-system statistics do not measure condo-game prevalence.
What Roblox’s rules prohibit
Roblox’s Restricted Content Policy prohibits content or behavior that depicts, implies, or explicitly describes sexual acts. It also prohibits sexually suggestive content or behavior—including avatar bodies, assets, clothing, emotes, and settings—and sexually explicit conversations or solicitation. Public-facing information about restricted experiences, such as titles, descriptions, thumbnails, and videos, must be appropriate for all ages.

On August 15, 2025, Roblox Chief Safety Officer Matt Kaufman announced a clarification explicitly covering content, settings, or behavior that implies sexual activity. The announcement also described planned measures: limiting access to unrated experiences until developers complete a maturity questionnaire; using technology to detect rule-violating behavior within otherwise compliant experiences; and restricting social hangouts in private spaces such as bedrooms or bathrooms for ID-verified users aged 17 or older. Roblox described rollout plans, so the announcement alone does not establish that every measure is fully implemented. Check the dated announcement and current policy for the latest status.
Roblox also distinguished the purpose and design of an experience from the presence of a particular room asset: a dollhouse or simulation may include a bed or bathroom without necessarily prompting the same behavior as a social hangout centered on private spaces.

How Roblox safety tools fit together
Roblox describes several layers of safety, but none guarantees that every harmful interaction will be prevented or detected.
- Prevention: Age-based settings and experiences, filtered chat, and controls over who can chat, message, follow a player into games, or invite them to private servers.
- Detection: Content moderation and tools Roblox says it uses to identify rule violations. Its safety-tools page reports more than 100 safety enhancements in 2025, but does not itemize or independently evaluate each one.
- Response: Players can block or mute others and use Roblox’s in-app Report Abuse option.
Roblox says filtered chat is the default for eligible platform communication and is designed to block inappropriate content, personal information, and instructions to move conversations off-platform. Players can have different settings and game access based on age. See Roblox’s safety support information and safety-tools page for current controls and instructions; labels, age checks, and menu paths can change.

What the published safety figures do—and do not—show
The Associated Press reported that Roblox attributed 1,200 submissions of potential child-exploitation attempts to its Sentinel system in the first half of 2025. That is a company-reported count of reports, not a count of confirmed crimes, condo games, or affected children. AP also reported Roblox’s estimate of about 6 billion chat messages per day; that describes platform-wide chat volume, not activity in condo games.
Discussing the challenge of detecting potential child endangerment, Kaufman told AP that “no system is perfect.” These figures provide context about platform safety systems; they cannot be used to estimate how many condo games exist or how many users encounter them. AP’s report on Sentinel has the details.

If a child encounters something uncomfortable
Respond calmly and without blame. Finding or mentioning an experience by itself does not establish what a child did or saw. A practical next step is to review account settings together and make sure the child knows they can tell a trusted adult if something feels uncomfortable.
