How to Find and Download PS Plus Catalog Games on PS5 and PS4

On PS5, open PlayStation Plus from the Games home screen, go to Benefits, then choose Game Catalog. On PS4, open PlayStation Plus from the function screen and select Game Catalog. Choose an eligible game and select Download. Catalog access requires a qualifying PlayStation Plus membership; it is a subscription benefit, not a permanent purchase.

Find and download a catalog game on PS5

From the Games home screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus.
Open the Benefits tab and select Game Catalog.
Choose an eligible game and select Download.

Find and download a catalog game on PS4

From the function screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus.
Scroll down and select Game Catalog.
Choose an eligible game and select Download.

PlayStation Plus games may also appear in Game Library. For the current list and console-specific instructions, see PlayStation’s Game Catalog guide. Availability can vary by region and change over time, so check the catalog shown for your account before expecting a particular title to be included. Which membership includes the Game Catalog?

PlayStation’s US access guide identifies PlayStation Plus Extra as providing access to the Game Catalog. PlayStation Plus Premium includes access to the Game Catalog and Classics Catalog. A suitable active membership is required to download catalog games; consult PlayStation’s membership and game access guide for the current details. Entitlements and plan names may vary by market.

Catalog downloads are different from Monthly Games

People sometimes say “claim” to mean adding a game to an account, but PlayStation uses different flows for catalog titles and Monthly Games. For a catalog title, select the eligible game in the catalog and choose Download. For a Monthly Game, PlayStation’s guide directs PS5 users to Benefits and then the Monthly Game; on PS4, the listed flow is Add to Library > Download. These are PlayStation Plus benefits, not the same as buying a game outright.

Download or stream?

Streaming is an alternative only when the membership plan, region, and specific title support it. PlayStation’s US support guidance specifies at least 5 Mbps broadband for catalog streaming. For 1080p streaming, the game must support that resolution and the connection must reach at least 15 Mbps; below that threshold, streaming resolution may decrease. These are Sony-published service requirements, not independent test results.

A download uses local console storage, while streaming depends on a sufficiently stable connection. PlayStation says Remote Play, Share Play, and Share Screen are unavailable while streaming, and some devices or peripherals are unsupported. Check the individual game’s options and the current console guidance before choosing a mode.

What can another account use through console sharing?

Sony says selected catalog benefits can be shared when the subscriber enables Console Sharing and Offline Play on one PS5, and when one PS4 is activated as the primary PS4. However, another account cannot redeem a PlayStation Plus game through the subscriber’s entitlement. See PlayStation’s console-sharing guidance for the boundaries that apply.
