PS Plus Extra Game Missing? Check These Catalog Causes

A game can be missing from your PlayStation Plus Extra catalog because it has left the rotating lineup, is unavailable in your account’s region, belongs to a different PS Plus benefit, or is not compatible with your console. Check the local Game Catalog and the game’s platform before treating the problem as a fault. If the game is already installed but access has stopped, membership validation may be a separate issue.

First, check the right PlayStation Plus section

PlayStation Plus Extra includes the Game Catalog, not every game on PlayStation. Monthly games, the Classics Catalog and game trials are separate benefits with their own eligibility. Confirm that you are looking for the title in the Game Catalog rather than assuming it is part of Extra because it appears elsewhere in PS Plus.

On PS5, open Games > PlayStation Plus > Benefits > Game Catalog.
On PS4, open PlayStation Plus > Game Catalog.
If you previously downloaded the game, also look in Game Library. PlayStation’s guide explains how to access the catalog on PS5 and PS4, while its overview distinguishes monthly games from catalog access.

Check whether the game is available in your region

The Game Catalog varies by country or region. A title listed on a page for another country is not proof that it is available to your account. PlayStation directs subscribers to the PlayStation Plus hub on their console for the full list in their country or region. Check there using the account you actually use to play.

PlayStation’s US catalog page states: “Please check the PlayStation Plus hub on your console to see the full list of titles available in your country/region.”

See whether the title has left the rotating catalog

Catalog games can have an end date and may be removed from PlayStation Plus. If the title has left, it is no longer available through the catalog benefit, even if it appeared there before or remains visible in an old list. Check the current local console listing and any announced leaving date; the lineup changes over time. PlayStation’s live catalog and FAQ provide current lineup information.

If a removed game is still offered for sale, you can check its listing in the local PlayStation Store. The available purchase option depends on the specific game and region.

Make sure the game works on your console

Some games are limited to one console generation. PlayStation’s US FAQ says PS5 games can only be downloaded to a PS5 console. If the title is PS5-only, it will not download to a PS4. Check the game’s platform listing before troubleshooting a download failure.

If an installed game suddenly stops working

A game disappearing from the catalog listing is different from an installed game losing access. PlayStation’s May 23, 2022 guide says downloaded Extra and Premium Game Catalog games need a PSN connection every seven days to validate membership and maintain access. If the installed game will not launch, connect the console to PSN and check that the account still has an active membership with access to that title. This validation guidance concerns continued access to a downloaded catalog game; it does not explain why a title is absent from the catalog itself. See PlayStation’s May 23, 2022 service guide.

What to gather if the checks do not solve it

If the game should be in your local catalog and is compatible with your console, note these details before contacting PlayStation Support:

The exact game and edition you are trying to access.
Your account’s country or region.
Your console model.
Your active PlayStation Plus tier.
Whether the title is missing from the catalog, missing from your library, or installed but will not launch.
The exact error message shown on screen.

Without those specifics, the cause of an individual account’s problem cannot be identified from the general catalog information alone.
