ARC Raiders’ North Line update was Patch 1.2.0, released November 13, 2025. It introduced Stella Montis, a new map unlocked through a community event, alongside new ARC enemies, equipment, quests and gameplay fixes. North Line is now a past release; this guide explains what it added and how its unlock worked.
What was in the North Line update?
Embark’s November 13, 2025 Patch Notes 1.2.0 labeled the release “ACT I – NORTH LINE.” Its headline addition was Stella Montis, a facility carved into northern mountains and relatively well-preserved compared with the lower Rust Belt’s wreckage. Embark’s November 12 preview described a cold, sterile place marked by humanity’s push toward the stars.
The patch notes listed the new location, the Matriarch and Shredder, the community unlock event, new items and new quests. The preview specified one legendary weapon, three mines and two grenades, but did not name them; it also announced quests set in Stella Montis.
How did players unlock Stella Montis?
Breaking New Ground: contribute materials
The limited-time Breaking New Ground event began November 13, 2025. Players who had completed at least five rounds could contribute five kinds of materials toward restoring tunnels: Metal Parts, Fabric, Chemicals, Rubber Parts and Plastic Parts. Donations earned Merits, the currency for the event’s next progression phase. Embark said contributions beyond the Merit cap still helped the community reach Stella Montis sooner.

Staking Our Claim: continue progression
Once the community unlocked the tunnels, the Staking Our Claim limited-time progression track began. It offered personal rewards and challenges and ran until December 2025. The two phases therefore served different purposes: Breaking New Ground pooled materials for the community unlock, while Staking Our Claim focused on individual progression after the map opened.
What were the Matriarch and Shredder?
North Line previewed two new ARC machines. The Matriarch was described as an imposing enemy encountered during a specific map condition. The Shredder was set to appear first in Stella Montis and bring close-quarters encounters. The announcement did not specify the Matriarch’s condition or provide further combat details, so those descriptions should not be read as a complete guide to their behavior.
What else changed in Patch 1.2.0?
Movement, hit feedback and terrain
Embark said it reduced server-side character movement latency to improve desynchronization problems—for example, cases where a player appeared to take damage after reaching cover. The patch also reduced the delay between shooting ARC and seeing hit effects, made vaulting smoother and fixed locations where players could fall through terrain.

North Line was a 2025 release, not an update still waiting to arrive. Its original preview called it the beginning of the post-launch roadmap and described Cold Snap as the next update planned for December 2025; that was historical scheduling, not a current announcement.

In a May 13, 2026 development post, Executive Producer Aleksander Grøndal said Embark had decided to release major updates twice a year, while a dedicated live-service team would continue regular updates, balance work, bug fixes, store updates and player events. The post described Frozen Trail as the next major update and the largest released since launch at the time. Embark’s September 8, 2026 Live Update 1.45.0 said Cred would expire with Frozen Trail on October 8, 2026, and addressed how claimed Raider Deck rewards would carry forward. Those later plans are separate from North Line’s content.
