AION 2’s global launch FAQ lists Steam and PURPLE on Windows PC as its supported access routes. Which platforms support AION 2?
The global launch FAQ lists Steam and PURPLE on Windows PC as the official ways to play, with the same in-game content on both. The global launch guidance does not establish mobile support for this version.
NCSoft’s global AION 2 page lists October 5, 2026 as the service launch date. The official Steam announcements tie commercial launch to the end of maintenance scheduled across October 4–5. Because that maintenance crosses dates, consult the latest notice for its time zone and current status rather than assuming the game is available at a particular local hour.
Can you play solo or with friends?
Yes. The launch FAQ says AION 2 can be played solo or with friends. For group play, players choose a region, faction, and server. The game has two factions, Elyos and Asmodian; they encounter one another in shared PvP spaces such as the Abyss. Instanced activities, including dungeons, are cross-server, so they are not limited to players on the same server.

Server pairings may be updated periodically. Check the current server announcement before coordinating a specific server with friends. For voice chat, a PC headset with a microphone is an optional convenience, not a stated requirement.
Can you use the same character on Steam and PURPLE?
Yes, if you link the accounts. You can start on Steam without a PURPLE account, but linking is required to access the same character and progress through both Steam and PURPLE.

NCSoft’s support instructions depend on how you originally logged in. Follow the flow for your original login method before changing links, particularly if your existing character is tied to a non-Steam NC login.
Does Taiwan or Korea progress carry over to global?
No. The global launch FAQ says progress from the Taiwan and Korea versions does not carry over to the global version. This is separate from Steam/PURPLE account linking: linking lets you access the same global character through those two routes, but does not transfer regional-version progress.

What is known about progression?
The confirmed continuity details are limited to regional transfer and linked access: Taiwan- and Korea-version progress does not transfer to global, while linking Steam and PURPLE allows access to the same character and progress across those routes. The official launch FAQ material does not establish level caps, gear steps, progression speed, resets, or seasonal timing. Treat claims about those details as version-specific unless an official global source confirms them.
