In the U.S., no single streaming service carries every NFL game. Local Sunday afternoon games are usually on CBS or FOX; national and exclusive games are split across services and networks, while out-of-market Sunday afternoon games require NFL Sunday Ticket. Start with the specific games you want, then choose a route that works in your market and on your devices.
Where NFL games are shown in 2026
The NFL’s Ways to Watch guide identifies the main broadcast windows and services. Matchups and assignments can change, including in flex-scheduling windows, so check the listing for the game you intend to watch.

Local Sunday afternoon games
For the CBS or FOX game assigned to your area, an over-the-air antenna can avoid another subscription if you can receive the local station. Reception varies by address, terrain, building, and station coverage; check local coverage before buying an antenna. A TV or live-TV streaming provider is another route. Paramount+ may stream local CBS games, but availability still depends on the local game and current service terms.

An antenna only receives available local broadcasts. It does not provide out-of-market Sunday Ticket games or streaming exclusives such as Prime Video or Netflix games.
Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, and Thursday Night Football
Sunday Night Football is carried by NBC or Peacock, Monday Night Football by ESPN and/or ABC, and Thursday Night Football and Black Friday by Prime Video. Choose a TV package or individual service that includes the outlet for the matchup you want; access to ESPN or ABC, for example, depends on the package and provider. Confirm the current listing because schedules and rights assignments can change.
Out-of-market Sunday afternoon games
NFL Sunday Ticket covers regular-season Sunday afternoon games on CBS and FOX that are not shown on your local channels. It is available as an add-on through YouTube TV or as a standalone YouTube Primetime Channel, so the standalone option does not require a YouTube TV plan.
- Sunday Ticket does not include games shown on your local channels.
- It does not include national broadcasts or postseason games.
- A YouTube TV main plan or Sports plan carries local and national NFL broadcasts in its lineup; Sunday Ticket adds the eligible out-of-market Sunday afternoon games.
Sunday Ticket is not an all-games package. Check YouTube’s current plan terms and the game listing before subscribing.
Live viewing on a phone or tablet
NFL+ offers live local and primetime regular-season and postseason games on phones and tablets in the U.S. It does not provide live out-of-market Sunday afternoon regular-season games; the NFL says those require Sunday Ticket.

These are separate benefits from live regular-season viewing, and device support and terms should be checked for the current season.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you watch NFL games on a TV or computer?
Do not assume NFL+’s live mobile access means you can stream those same games live on a connected TV or computer. The NFL says live games through its apps or NFL.com on connected TVs and desktop may require a supported cable or streaming provider login. NFL+ live regular-season and postseason games are limited to phones and tablets; its replay and preseason benefits have different supported-device terms.
For broader TV coverage, a live-TV streaming plan can provide the local and national channels in its lineup. YouTube TV’s main plan or Sports plan carries the local and national NFL broadcasts shown in your area on CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN, and NFL Network. The standalone Sunday Ticket channel on YouTube is a different option and does not itself replace a plan for local or national games.

How to pick the least complicated setup
- List the games and windows you care about. Distinguish local Sunday afternoon games, national windows, special exclusive games, and out-of-market Sunday afternoon matchups.
- Check the current NFL schedule and viewing listing. Confirm the matchup, your location, and its assigned outlet on the NFL Ways to Watch page. Flexed games and other assignments can change.
- Check what you already receive. Review your TV provider or streaming plan’s local channels and national networks before adding another subscription.
- Match the service to the missing games. Consider an antenna for receivable local CBS/FOX broadcasts, an individual service for an exclusive window, or Sunday Ticket for eligible out-of-market Sunday afternoon games. NFL+ is an option for its stated phone-and-tablet live coverage, not a substitute for Sunday Ticket.
- Verify device access, local availability, and current cost. Check the service’s current plan terms, supported devices, blackout rules, and your local game availability. Total cost depends on the services you already have and the current plans available to you.
What to verify before subscribing
- Market: Is the game local to you, or out of market?
- Window: Is it a Sunday afternoon CBS/FOX game, a national broadcast, or a streaming-exclusive matchup?
- Device: Does live viewing work on your TV, computer, phone, or tablet under that service’s terms?
- Provider and blackout rules: Does the provider carry the relevant channel, and is the game subject to a restriction?
- Price and package: What does the current plan cost, and are you already paying for a service that includes the game?
The NFL’s Ways to Watch guide lists over-the-air broadcasts and providers including YouTube TV, DirecTV, Xfinity, Spectrum, Hulu, Dish, Sling, Fios, Fubo, and Optimum. Availability depends on the provider, location, and matchup. Current prices and household antenna reception are not established by the viewing guides, so check those directly before committing.
