The key difference is which Switch you mean. The original Nintendo Switch bundles were cloud versions; the newly announced full KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] is for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with release scheduled for October 8, 2026. On October 4, 2026, it had not yet launched. The full collection is not a native original-Switch release.
Which Kingdom Hearts Switch release are you comparing?
Square Enix’s October 2026 collection is a new package for Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The older original-Switch releases are a different proposition: the three bundles, including Integrum Masterpiece, were cloud versions rather than local game installations. A separate digital version of HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX is listed for original Nintendo Switch, but it is not the full [I~III] collection. Square Enix’s 2022 announcement described the original Switch releases as cloud versions.
As of October 4, 2026, the full collection’s announced release date, October 8, was still in the future. Treat it as an upcoming release when comparing editions, not as a version already available to play.
What does Collection [I~III] include?
Square Enix groups the collection into three packages. The list mixes playable games with cinematic or cutscene material, so not every story named below is a full playable game in this collection.

Square Enix support says the game content is the same across console versions. That statement does not establish resolution, frame rate, loading times, or performance for the October 2026 releases, so the available official information does not support a technical-performance ranking. Square Enix’s cross-platform FAQ does not give those specifications.

What happens to original-Switch cloud owners?
Square Enix’s June 9, 2026 service notice says the Switch cloud titles stopped being sold at 14:59 UTC that day and are scheduled to remain playable until 14:59 UTC on June 9, 2027.
- Owners of a Switch cloud version can transfer save data to the corresponding Switch 2 digital version and receive an owner discount on that corresponding digital release.
- The physical Collection [I~III] is not eligible for that Switch cloud-owner discount.
- Owners of the cloud Integrum Masterpiece qualify for discounts on all digital versions named in the notice.
The June 2026 notice does not state the discount percentage. Separately, Square Enix’s collection page identifies 50% discounts for eligible owners of certain individually purchased digital editions on Switch cloud, PS4, or Xbox One. Those eligibility rules are edition-specific; check the relevant store listing before buying rather than assuming every prior purchase qualifies.

Are there platform-exclusive bonuses?
Square Enix lists a different purchase-linked Keyblade for each platform. The listed Keyblade is available with purchase of either KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind DLC or the full collection.

Which version should you consider?
- For the full collection on a Nintendo system: the announced [I~III] package is for Switch 2, not original Switch.
- For original Switch: the listed digital 1.5+2.5 ReMIX is separate from the full collection. Existing cloud owners should account for the service end date and check the stated transfer and discount eligibility.
- For PS5 or Xbox Series X|S: Square Enix lists the same collection components for both. PS5 has digital and physical formats listed; Xbox is listed as digital.
- If performance is your deciding factor: the official sources cited here do not provide comparable current-platform specifications.
