Epic’s Summer Road Trip event ran from July 23 until the v30.40 update on August 6, 2024: players who completed nine quests earned the Cybertruck bundle and Beast Mode boost. The scheduled event and shop dates have passed, and the sources available here do not establish whether the items are currently in the Shop.
What “Combat Vehicle” meant in Fortnite
The phrase described the item’s in-game classification and effect. TechRadar reported that selecting the Cybertruck cosmetic transformed a car the player entered during a typical online match into a Cybertruck. It did not mean Tesla’s road vehicle had been adapted for combat, and its real-world durability claims did not apply to the game item. TechRadar’s launch coverage explained the distinction.
How the 2024 Summer Road Trip worked
Epic announced the event on July 23, 2024. It began at 9 AM ET that day and ran until the v30.40 update on August 6. One quest unlocked each day from July 23 through July 31; players had until August 6 to finish all nine. Epic’s event announcement set out the schedule and rewards.
- Quests alternated between earning XP in creator-made islands and earning XP in specified Fortnite experiences, including Battle Royale modes, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, or Fortnite Festival.
- Some quests required playing with a party.
- Completing nine quests unlocked the Cybertruck bundle and Beast Mode Cybertruck Boost.
- The Baja Off-Road Decal required the event route and was exclusive to the Summer Road Trip.
What the Cybertruck bundle included
Epic listed these bundle items. The Cybertruck Car Body could be equipped as an SUV.

Quest unlock or Shop purchase
Epic said the bundle and Beast Mode Boost would be purchasable in the Fortnite Shop beginning August 6, 2024, with v30.40. That was a historical schedule, not confirmation of current availability. Notebookcheck reported August 7 as the purchase date for players who had not completed the quests, a one-day difference from Epic’s announced August 6 date. Notebookcheck’s contemporaneous guide described the alternate access route.
The event route awarded the Baja Off-Road Decal, which Epic said was exclusive to the event. Epic also said the bundle and boost were eligible for cross-game ownership with Rocket League and could be unlocked through Rocket League’s Summer Road Trip. Current Fortnite Shop rotation is not established here; check the live in-game Shop for availability.

Why the Cybertruck was in Fortnite
Fortnite’s July 22, 2024 social post, reproduced by Cybernews and attributed to Fortnite’s official account, teased: “Pulls ♾️ Catch a ride in the @tesla Cybertruck in Fortnite tomorrow!” Cybernews reproduced the announcement. The trailer’s towing imagery also drew attention to Tesla’s towing claim: Forbes reported the advertised figure as 11,000 pounds. That is Tesla’s 2024 claim, not an independently verified measure of real-world performance or a statistic about Fortnite. Forbes covered the teaser and claim.
