Verdict: Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park is easiest to recommend to newcomers and to players with friends ready to join its multiplayer attractions. The new solo content adds worthwhile reasons to revisit Wonder, but reviewers differ on whether it is substantial enough to justify the upgrade for someone who mainly plays alone.
What the Switch 2 Edition includes
This is an expanded edition of the original Super Mario Bros. Wonder, not a separate Bellabel Park spin-off. The full Switch 2 edition includes the original Nintendo Switch game and the new upgrade content. If you already own the original game, Nintendo sells the upgrade pack separately.
The expansion centers on Bellabel Park, a set of multiplayer attractions, but it also adds solo and cooperative content to the main game:
- Seven Koopaling boss courses add new fights to take on.
- Toad Brigade Training Camp provides challenge stages.
- Assist Mode offers a more forgiving way to play.
- Rosalina joins the playable roster, while Co-Star Luma can assist when at least two people are playing.
- The Super Flower Pot is a new power-up, and Dual Badges let players combine two badge effects.
Nintendo’s overview of the new content is on its US product page and in its announcement.

How Bellabel Park multiplayer works
Bellabel Park is the main attraction for players who want to bring others into Wonder. Nintendo’s US product page lists these player limits:
| Play mode | Players listed by Nintendo |
|---|---|
| One system | 1–4 |
| Local wireless | 2–8 |
| Online | 1–12 |
Online play requires internet access, a Nintendo Account, and a Nintendo Switch Online membership; Nintendo says online functionality is not available in every country. Some multiplayer setups may also need additional games, systems, or accessories. Check Nintendo’s product listing for current regional details and terms.

Is the added content worth it for solo players?
The new boss courses, training challenges, Assist Mode, and character and item additions give solo players more to do. But they are not the centerpiece of the expansion, and the cited reviewers see their value differently.
Jim Norman’s North American review for Nintendo Life, published March 25, 2026, displays an 8.2 score. Norman praises Wonder’s enduring platforming and views the new content as a pleasant reason to return, while finding the multiplayer additions too inconsequential to justify extra spending for some players. Steve Watts’s GameSpot review, published March 24, 2026, likewise describes the solo additions as enjoyable but limited in playtime on their own; its qualified recommendation is driven mainly by the multiplayer offering. These are individual outlet assessments, not an aggregate verdict. Read the reviews at Nintendo Life and GameSpot.

Which version should you buy?
Nintendo of America listed these regular US prices in 2026. They are not guarantees of current sale or retailer prices.
| Purchase path | What it includes | Listed regular US price |
|---|---|---|
| Switch 2 Edition | Original Nintendo Switch game plus Switch 2 upgrade content | $79.99 (Nintendo of America, 2026) |
| Upgrade pack | Switch 2 upgrade content; requires the original Nintendo Switch game | $19.99 (Nintendo of America, 2026) |
For a first-time buyer, the bundled edition is the complete way to get Wonder and the Bellabel Park additions together. Existing owners should consider the upgrade pack against how often they expect to play the new attractions with other people: the strongest case is a regular local or online group, while a mostly solo player has less new content to draw on. The US prices above may differ from current offers and from prices in other regions; see Nintendo’s US announcement for its listed figures.

Are amiibo or the Talking Flower required?
No. Nintendo says compatible Super Mario series amiibo can provide course power-ups or Bellabel Park decorations, and identifies Elephant Mario, Poplin & Prince Florian, and Captain Toad & Talking Flower figures. The figures are sold separately and add optional extras, not required content. Nintendo also announced a separate Talking Flower toy; it is merchandise, not a prerequisite for playing the game.
