There is no universal coin threshold that makes an FC Squad Building Challenge (SBC) worth completing. Compare the current cost of the required squads with the reward’s market alternative and how useful it would be to your club. Then account for the value of the coins and items you would give up—and check everything again before submitting, because SBC submissions are permanent.
What to check before deciding
- Read the full challenge. Note every squad requirement, including rating, chemistry, league or nation restrictions, the number of squads, the expiry time, and all rewards in the group. A cost estimate for one segment is not necessarily the cost of the complete challenge.
- Estimate what you would actually spend. Separate coins needed to buy players from cards you already own. Check the Transfer Market in your own game and on your platform: EA says average item prices fluctuate with overall demand. A third-party listing such as FUTEvolution’s SBC page may provide a changing cheapest-squad estimate and expiry, but it is not an EA guarantee. Prices and requirements can change, so treat estimates as snapshots rather than fixed costs.
- Count the alternative use of cards in your club. A tradeable card could be sold or used elsewhere; its relevant cost is the value of the best alternative you give up, not necessarily what you originally paid. An untradeable card cannot be sold, but it can still help with this or a future SBC. Using it is not automatically “free” if it would be more useful later.
- Compare the reward with something you could actually obtain. For a player reward, compare it with a similar player available to you on the current market. Consider whether the SBC item is untradeable and whether it fits your formation, chemistry and playing needs. A high rating alone does not make a player an upgrade.
- Include what you would have left. Ask whether completing the SBC would leave enough coins and useful club items for a higher-priority need. The option to keep those resources for another challenge is part of the comparison.
How to value a pack or pick
A pack’s headline possibility is not its expected outcome. Use the probability disclosure shown for that pack in-game, and treat the reward as uncertain rather than pricing it as though it contains the best possible player. EA’s pack-probability explanation, dated August 20, 2026, says probabilities apply on a pack-by-pack basis and are not cumulative. A category or rating-range probability is not a promise of a particular named player; individual item odds may be much lower, and separate pack openings are independent.
Use a personal decision rule
Completing can make sense when the reward is a player you expect to use, the net cost is acceptable to you, and the submitted resources have little better use. Skip or wait when a comparable alternative costs less, the reward would not improve your squad, or the expense would leave you short of coins or useful items for a more important need. There is no general break-even figure: market conditions, club contents and squad needs differ.
Make the final check before submitting
EA Help states that items submitted to an SBC are permanently removed from your club in exchange for rewards and that the submission cannot be reversed. Before confirming, verify the complete set of squads, the selected items, your current cost estimate and the time remaining. If you are unsure whether a valuable card is selected, stop and review the squad rather than relying on an undo.

Keep coin spending within EA’s rules
EA says coins can be earned by playing matches or selling items on the Transfer Market, but cannot be purchased. Its guidance also prohibits third-party coin purchases and coin transfers. Use coins earned through play, rewards or fair item sales when evaluating an SBC; do not rely on bought or transferred coins to make the numbers work. See EA’s coin and points safety guidance.

Challenge requirements, expiry times, market values and pack probabilities can change. A third-party squad estimate may not reflect your platform’s current prices, the players already in your club or the full cost of every segment. For the decision that matters, check the challenge and market in your own game immediately before you act.
