Is Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition being removed from sale? Techland’s Ultimate Edition was scheduled to leave sale on September 30, 2024, so this is a past change—not an upcoming deadline. IGN reported the date and said owners, as well as people who bought or upgraded before the deadline, would retain the edition’s promised benefits.
Why did Techland remove the Ultimate Edition?
Dying Light: The Beast began as the planned second story DLC for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, then grew into a standalone adventure. Techland announced on August 20, 2024 that it would be available at no extra charge to owners of the game’s Ultimate Edition, stating: “Dying Light: The Beast will be available for no extra charge for owners of the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 Stay Human.” Techland’s announcement confirms the entitlement; IGN subsequently reported that the Ultimate Edition would leave sale on September 30, 2024. IGN’s report is the source for that specific removal date.
Do Ultimate Edition owners get Dying Light: The Beast for free?
Techland promised The Beast at no extra charge to owners of Dying Light 2: Stay Human Ultimate Edition. The benefit was tied to owning that edition, not simply to owning or playing Dying Light 2. IGN reported that players who already owned Ultimate Edition, or purchased it or upgraded to it before September 30, 2024, would keep the promised benefits.
Buying The Beast separately now is not the same as acquiring the former Ultimate Edition or its historical entitlement. Techland’s FAQ describes The Beast as a standalone game. Techland’s current FAQ, last updated September 23, 2026, lists Dying Light 2 Reloaded Edition and Digital Extras Edition, but not Ultimate Edition.

What is the 2026 PS5 physical release?
On September 18, 2026, Techland announced physical Dying Light: The Beast editions for PS5 through Super Rare Games. The announcement names three tiers—Retail, Limited Super Rare Games, and Anniversary—with different physical extras. Preorders were scheduled to run through October 16, 2026, subject to regional availability and shipping restrictions. This is a separate release of The Beast, not a return of Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition or a change to its past entitlement.
