You can move a compatible save between Nintendo Switch-family consoles using Nintendo’s nearby-console transfer. It requires both consoles to be online and nearby, with the same Nintendo Account linked to the relevant users; Nintendo Switch Online is not required. The transfer removes the save from the source console, and replacing an existing save on the target can permanently erase it. Whether this game supports save sharing between its Switch and Switch 2 editions is not confirmed by the official sources cited here.
Transfer a save from another Switch-family console
Use Nintendo’s system-level transfer for a save on a Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 console. Nintendo describes the feature as applying to compatible software, so the game must support the relevant save sharing. Update both consoles to the latest system software before starting.

- Connect both consoles to the internet, place them near each other, and make sure the same Nintendo Account is linked to the user on each console.
- On the source console, open System Settings > Data Management > Transfer Your Save Data.
- Select Send Save Data to Another Console. If prompted on Switch 2, choose the target system type. Select the user and LEGO Batman save, then choose Next and OK.
- On the target console, open System Settings > Data Management > Transfer Your Save Data > Receive Save Data.
- Wait for the transfer to finish, then launch the game on the target console.
Nintendo’s instructions state that the source save is deleted after it is sent, so this is a move, not a copy. If the target already has a save for the game, do not proceed unless you are willing to replace it: Nintendo warns that overwritten save data cannot be recovered. Cancel if you need to preserve the target save. Nintendo Support’s transfer instructions cover the console requirements and overwrite behavior.
Can you restore a cloud-backed save instead?
Nintendo Australia’s listing marks LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight as supporting Save Data Cloud and says a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for that feature. Cloud restoration is distinct from nearby-console transfer: it may restore a cloud-backed save for a compatible user and system, but it does not establish a way to import progress from PC, PlayStation, or Xbox. Check the save-data settings on your console and the Nintendo listing for your region, since service terms can vary. Nintendo Australia’s game listing identifies the cloud-save support.

Can you transfer a PS5, Xbox, or PC save to Switch 2?
That is not confirmed in the official material cited here. WB Games lists versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, but its FAQ does not establish cross-platform save transfer or synchronization. Linking a WB Games account should not be treated as proof that save files or progress will carry over. If you are changing platform families, ask WB Games support whether migration is supported before relying on it.

| Nearby-console transfer | Moving a compatible save between two Switch-family consoles | Both consoles online and nearby; same Nintendo Account linked to the users; Nintendo Switch Online not required. Sending deletes the source save, and overwriting a target save is irreversible. Details: Nintendo Support. |
| Save Data Cloud | Restoring a cloud-backed save on a compatible account and system | Nintendo Australia lists cloud-save support for this game and requires paid Nintendo Switch Online for the feature. This does not confirm PC, PlayStation, or Xbox migration. Details: Nintendo Australia. |
Nintendo lists the Switch 2 game with a 18 September 2026 release date on its UK page. That confirms the platform listing, not that this title’s Switch and Switch 2 editions share saves. Nintendo UK’s listing provides the release information.
